Weston McKennie And Angel Di Maria Are The Latest Footballing BFFs in Town

Angel Di Maria has taken to life at Juventus really well after joining them as a free agent in the summer transfer window. The Argentine scored their first goal of the Serie A season, a sassy strike to kick-start the 3-0 rout of Sassuolo.

It also seems like the ex-PSG star has become quite a popular figure in the dressing room already with the Bianconeri squad. Di Maria’s experience, as well as his receptive attitude, look to have been taken well by his teammates who love to be with him on and off the pitch.

One player who has formed a unique bond with Di Maria is midfielder Weston McKennie. The USA international had a really sweet moment with the Argentine midfielder after his impressive goal against Sassuolo. The cameras just about caught a moment between the two as they shared a rather surprising handshake routine.

The handshake routine seems to have earned the dub of the ‘Angel Handshake’ as the two moved their hands similar to the movements of a flying angel during the ordeal.

Ever since the 34-year-old started training with Juventus last month, he looks to have grown fond of the young midfielder – who has a really happy-going personality with the squad.

Last month, Di Maria even posted a video on his Instagram where he shows how childish and fun-loving the American star can be in the dressing room.

In the video, McKennie can be seen driving around a remote-controlled car in the room, with the Argentine winger adding noises of Formula-One cars for added effect.

The duo seem to be as thick as thieves at Juventus and quite clearly love each other’s company both off and on the pitch.

They are probably going to debut more such handshakes as long as Di Maria can continue scoring goals and help his side mount a serious Serie A title challenge as well as perform better in the UEFA Champions League this season.
