Look: Talk Show Host Becomes Latest Celebrity to Visit Stamford Bridge

Chelsea seems to be back on the ascendancy after suffering a dip since the takeover of American businessman Todd Boehly and his consortium.

The Blues had a shaky start to the campaign, which led to Thomas Tuchel being sacked by the club  – only a few mere months into the new campaign.

They were able to convince Graham Potter to take over the club, leaving his position at Brighton. Things have improved at Chelsea since – as they picked up major wins over AC Milan and Wolves to entertain the Stamford Bridge faithful.

But it’s not just the regular Chelsea fans who are flocking to the stadiums to watch them play in person.

Boehly is a regular visitor to Stamford Bridge, as he wants to be a more sociable owner who is seen as an active enthusiast at the club.

He doesn’t come alone though. Todd is trying to improve the popularity of his club. As a result, he often invited some well-known celebrities to attend games and improve their knowledge of the beautiful game.

During Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, former television host turned actor James Corden was pictured sitting with Boehly in the VIP Box of Stamford Bridge.

Corden, who gained fame through his work as a host of ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’, is a well-known personality in the UK – but is also not really liked by some fans.

His delving into the movie industry, especially since his involvement in the widely-hated ‘Cats’ movie – has left a sour taste in the mouths of fans.

The reason why Chelsea fans, in particular, hate him is that he is a well-known supporter of West Ham United – their local rivals.

Corden is not at all discreet with his love for the Hammers, as he’s often featured in some of their YouTube clips in the past. He even partied with their players last season after they reached the Europa League semi-finals last season.

Corden is a frequent visitor to their home games in the London Stadium and if he is really a die-hard hammer, then he’d also be wired to hate Chelsea.

Despite that, Corden was pictured sitting just beside Boehly and showing a surprisingly keen interest in the game.

Then again, Corden isn’t really the first non-Chelsea supporting celebrity to have visited Stamford Bridge in the past few months.

During the win over AC Milan in the Champions League, the star of ‘Ted Lasso’ and Emmy-award winner Jason Sudeikis was pictured in the VIP Box with his co-star Brendan Hunt.
