Chelsea’s attackers, sans the new signings, have been facing a lot of flack this season for their lack of contributions. Havertz, Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech and co. have failed to affect most games.
It is, in fact, the new signings that have made an impact.
To further illustrate the point, Sterling is this season’s top scorer for the London club with 3 goals.
The top assist-getter? The unlikely Thiago Silva, a central defender, such has been the state of players.
But if the PL game gone by is any indication, this may soon be changing. Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Wolves on Saturday was a welcome reprieve for the incumbents at the club.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring and Christian Pulisic doubled it shortly after, both goals made by Mason Mount. The final nail in the coffin came via Armando Broja, assisted by Mateo Kovacic.
The opener was a thing of beauty. After multiple failed attempts by the London club, Havertz finally made a breakthrough via a looping header over the Wolves keeper.
In the build-up, Mount exchanged a couple of passes with Chalobah before pinging the ball in the box, which Kai duly converted.
The combination of the two players was particularly special to see, as the duo had previously combined to score the winner in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.
The pair of Havertz and Mount has had a sort of bromance going on for quite a while now.
The two players, who were usually the first names on the sheet under Tuchel’s reign, even have a special celebration, which is a half-salute to each other.
Here’s another clip of the duo showing each other love after winning the CL final.
Now, after the resurgence of this bromance post the gameweek goal connection, another chapter is being written.
The two youngsters were spotted wearing the same bracelet on different occasions.
Havertz can be seen wearing a bracelet on his right wrist while watching what looks like the recent Der Klassiker that finished 2-2 between Dortmund and Munich.
Mount’s right wrist features a similar bracelet in the picture, which was captured during an NFL game with teammate Ben Chilwell.
On further inspection, the bracelet looks like a Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra bracelet.
Van Cleef & Arpels is a French luxury brand which was founded in 1896 in Paris. Needless to say, the bracelet is expensive.
The bracelet is made out of 18-carat yellow gold, has five onyx stones and costs somewhere around $3,000 – $4,000.
While it is entirely plausible that the two go shopping together, or bought two bracelets as an ode to the friendship, a more straightforward explanation could just be that these bracelets are in fashion and “every rich guy has one”.
Whatever the reason, Chelsea fans must be buzzing that the bromance is still going strong and they surely must be hoping that this translates to more goals and assists for the pair.
