Superstar rapper Drake’s love affair with retro football apparel continues, weeks after he was spotted rocking a stunning Napoli track jacket from the Diego Maradona era.
During that instance, the rapper behind hits such as ‘One Dance’ and ‘God’s Plan’ uploaded images of him sporting a Gli Azzurri jacket from the 1987-88 season.
Bearing retro signage and old-school details, his choice of apparel left the football world surprised, and Napoli fans excited.
And now, the ‘6 God’ is back again with some more retro flair, all while exhibiting his newfound fondness for Napoli.
His choice of Partenopei gear on this occasion was a jumper from the early 2010s.
Ripped from the Macron era at the San Paolo Stadium, the jumper brings to mind a proper ‘streets won’t forget’ Napoli side, composed of talents like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Lorenzo Insigne.
The design itself brings to the fore a lopsided presentation, as white dominates the entirety of the jumper barring the area around the club crest, which is enveloped in the traditional blue.
Long-time sponsor Lete are present in the centre, while Macron lettering can be found around the top-right corner.
The Italian sportswear brand’s logo makes an appearance on the right sleeve, accompanied by faint stripes that carry forward from the lettering itself.
Once again, the rapper has picked out a looker, and while it doesn’t carry the prestige of a Maradona-era jacket, it remains classy.
Most fans online loved seeing Drake embrace the Gli Azzurri, well, aside from Napoli supporters themselves.
And of course, their concern is a result of the infamous ‘Drake curse’.
His appearance in the jumper marks the second occasion that the rapper has displayed love for Napoli, and fans are beginning to just a little bit nervous.
Coincidentally, he rocked the Partenopei gear on the same day as Napoli lost a friendly against Villareal.
Perhaps the concerns are valid after all.
