IShowSpeed, also known as Darren Watkins Jr., has been making waves in the world of streaming over the last few months, with his high energy and eccentric personality quickly making him one of the most popular personalities on YouTube.

Recently, he managed to connect with one of the biggest names in the music industry, Drake, during one of his streams.

Speed has become a huge fan of football recently, with a particular interest in Cristiano Ronaldo.

In fact, he has self-proclaimed himself as Ronaldo’s biggest fan, despite still referring to him as “Christian Ronaldo.”

Speed has even embraced Ronaldo’s iconic celebration, “Siu,” and made a song about it.

His biggest wish is to meet Ronaldo in person, which he has already tried achieving on multiple occasions by taking the help of other players like Rio Ferdinand and Jesse Lingard.

This passion for football has led him to cross paths with another massive celebrity who also happens to be a big football fan: the Toronto-based rapper, Drake.

Drake has a long history with football, having been seen supporting various teams and players over the years.

He has hung out with Mario Balotelli, kicked it with Rio Ferdinand, and been seen with Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

One of the most hotly debated topics in football is the question of who is the better player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The two superstars have been at the top of the sport for over a decade, and their rivalry has been one of the defining narratives of modern football.

Thus, this debate inevitably came up during this conversation between Speed and Drake too – Ronaldo or Messi?

Drake’s answer to the question was unsurprising, with the rapper professing his love for Ronaldo over Messi. Drake gave his answer, saying –

For me, probably Ronaldo to be honest. But I know that’s probably not gonna go over well. I know it’s Messi’s moment right now, but for me, I’ve just always been a Ronaldo fan. I’m like you.

This is not the first time that Drake has shown love for the Portuguese star – in his 2018 song ‘Blue Tint’, he dedicated a bar to CR7, rapping “Way this shit set up I live like Ronaldo, but I never been in Madrid, woah”.

However, Drake also has worked with Messi, referencing him in the song “I’M ON ONE” with the line “I’m just all about my goals like I’m Messi” and memorably starring with the Argentine star in a FIFA 14 promo campaign.

The YouTuber was ecstatic to hear Drake’s answer.

The fact that his idol had also chosen Ronaldo over Messi was like a dream come true for the young streamer, and he could barely contain his excitement.

However, things quickly took a turn when Speed couldn’t resist complimenting Drake’s voice in a slightly inappropriate manner, causing the rapper to laugh and end the call.

The interaction between IShowSpeed and Drake may not have gone as planned, but it’s clear that the rising star has made an impression on the music icon.

With his growing popularity and his love for football, it’s possible that we may see more collaborations between Speed and other big names in the future.

As for Speed’s dream of meeting Ronaldo, only time will tell if it ever becomes a reality.
