23/24 Liverpool Away Kit: Leaks show Nike’s nod to cult Adidas design

Kit Leaks, Liverpool, Nike

Liverpool kits leaking before their planned release has effectively turned into a yearly tradition, and as such, it came as no surprise when the away kit for 23/24 season leaked online just a few days ago.

All 3 of Reds’ kits for next season has leaked now. It all started with the primary kit, as revealed prematurely by the ever-reliable FootyHeadlines.

As per the report, Nike have kept things strictly traditional with the home kit, and have also opted for white accents as a possible throwback to the Reebok era at Liverpool.

In contrast, the third kit is set to venture in a fresh new direction.

Going by the leaks, Liverpool’s third strip will feature a shade of purple as the base colour alongside accents in dark grey.

The creative look showed off Nike’s willingness to experiment, and according to fan reactions, they certainly pulled it off with the third kit.

To complete the set, 2 different iterations of the away kit surfaced online, each more horrendous than the other.

While some reports suggested that the kit would be a mixture of yellow and blue, others claimed that it is a panelled blend of green and white.

The real 23/24 Liverpool Away Kit Leaks Online

To end the speculation, the latter was confirmed to be somewhat accurate, with reliable reports having recently revealed Liverpool’s away kit for next season.

As seen in these early mock-ups, Nike are all set to take the bold route with the away strip.

White is the base colour accompanied by green, with the central graphic being a series of blocks instead of panels.

Green features on the top left and bottom right of the graphic, and its presentation gives off an almost digitized appearance.

For the accents, the use of black has been employed, the colour is present on the collar, and sleeve cuffs, and it also envelopes the various logos.

The sectioned design resembles a cult-favourite Liverpool kit, namely the away strip from 1995-1996 created by then-sponsors Adidas.

The initial renders, based on skeletal descriptions, had fans worried that the kit would look too much like a Celtic strip.

Fortunately, this evades any such concerns, the design is fresh, sharp and inspired.

The shirt will be paired with black shorts and white socks, which will further enhance the overall look.

Fans’ opinions online were similarly positive, although a majority of the praise was just relief after the debacle the initial renders presented.
