After weeks of speculation, Barcelona’s third and final kit for the 2023/24 season has been leaked on Twitter.
The season of kit leaks and rumors has arrived and the ever-reliable FootyHeadlines is in full form.
Constantly sharing glimpses and predictions of kit designs for the coming season, the website has now strongly endorsed the predictions for the third strips of La Liga front-runners FC Barcelona.
Following leaks about kit designs from Liverpool and Real Madrid, it’s the turn of the Catalan giants to be the next big club to have their kit designs for the coming season leaked.
As predicted by graphic designer @corinth_design and approved by kit expert @hendocfc on Twitter, the base of the kit is presumed to be purely turquoise in color.
Nike seems to have gotten it right somewhere. On the one hand, where the fans were mercilessly rejecting the majority of Nike’s World Cup kits, the sports brand appears to have captured the spirit of Blaugrana.
This will be the third season in a row where Nike could expect its shirt design to be welcomed with warm hands by the Culers.
All three of Barcelona’s strips in the season 2022/23 went down well among the fans. Following the momentum from the current season, Nike is set to be on point yet again for the Catalonia-based club as the third kit seems to be ticking the required boxes.
As the leaks suggest, the third kit will feature “Light Aqua” as its primary color. Unlike the third strip Barcelona sports this season, the next year’s jerseys do not feature any richness in texture or patterns.
The neck follows a yoke pattern, a design that is also common with the majority of the jerseys Nike has released for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. The triangular stripes representing the color of Blaugrana emerge from the collar.
The sleeve ends also feature the colors Red and Blue, adding a bit more diversity to the otherwise bland strip.
The accents are represented in black as the club sponsors Spotify will continue to feature on the shirt of the Blaugrana. The Nike logo at the chest is featured in the same tint.
Though the design appears to be streamlined and for the most part, completely bland, the choice of shade makes up for the lack of creativity at the center.
Nothing too outlandish, nothing too flashy, the design and the color combination Nike has applied to this strip is exactly what Barcelona fans would’ve been hoping from their third kit. Simple, sober, with a beautiful color combination.
Talking about the color combination used in the strip, the shades are a throwback to the away kit FC Barcelona dawned in the early to mid-90s, popularly known as “Cruyff’s Dream Team”. The Catalans also sported a similar away kit from 2011-2013 and in the season 2019-20.
Contemplating from the time of the year Barcelona’s third kit of the current season was released, we predict that the club could officially release their third strips around late August to early September.
Having the primary and secondary kits already been leaked as early as October of last year, it is safe to assume we will not be getting any more jersey leaks related to FC Barcelona for the remainder of the season.
