The expected salary of Mason Mount at Manchester United has finally been revealed, following his £60 million transfer from Chelsea.
The talented England international has emerged as a top target for the Red Devils in the summer transfer window as Manchester United look keen to inject more creativity into their midfield. After lengthy negotiations, a lucrative deal has been agreed upon signaling Mount’s transition from Chelsea to Manchester United for the deal of £55m + £5m in add-ons.
Mount’s decision to move came as he approached the final year of his contract with Chelsea who had offered Mount a renewal worth just under £200,000 per week. The midfielder turned down the deal due to concerns over the contract’s length and unfavourable image rights terms.
The displeasure regarding Chelsea’s contract renewal paved the way for Manchester United to swoop in and secure Mount, offering him a more enticing and financially rewarding opportunity at Old Trafford. The upcoming move will see Mount commit to a five-year contract, keeping him at Manchester United until the summer of 2028.
According to reports from Daily Mail, Mason Mount’s contract with Manchester United will be worth an initial £250,000 per week. This figure includes the potential for the midfielder to earn up to £300,000 per week, only upon meeting certain performance-related clauses. This significant salary increase far surpasses his previous earnings of £80,000 per week during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Before making the move, Mount’s most recent contract with Chelsea had an annual salary of £4,160,000. At Manchester United, the talented midfielder will enjoy a basic annual salary of £13,000,000.
This remarkable boost in salary signifies the club’s strong belief in Mount’s abilities and the impact they expect him to have on the team’s performance.
Manchester United’s willingness to invest in his talent is indicative of their determination to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level.
Manchester United recognizes the midfielder’s potential as a key creative force and believes he can contribute significantly to their success in domestic and international competitions with a price tag that is well deserved for his talent and energy can bring for the Premier League upcoming season.
