Sergio Busquets has joined his former teammate Lionel Messi in sunny beaches of Miami and it looks like they have their feet in the sand already.
La Masia graduates,, who have previously played together 568 times, joined the MLS club this summer and made their debuts from the bench against Cruz Azul.
The match was also Martino’s first against his former club. He was named Miami’s coach on June 28. The two started for the first time in a 4-0 drubbing of Atlanta United.
Messi was named as the club captain and repaid that trust by scoring two goals and adding a assist as well.
Inter Miami CF introduced new signing Messi to a sold-out crowd at DRV PNK Stadium. on Sunday, July 16.
The life in Miami has been copacetic for the two so far. However, their recent meetup with another former Barca player, Sergio Aguero (albeit short lived) has revealed a sight that would be difficult to forget and not in a good way.
The unsightly photograph has gone viral raking in comments from astonishing to absurd.
The picture shows all three hugging each other in training attire standing in front of a football pitch.
However, all the attention is grabbed by the extreme difference between the feet of Messi and Busquets.
The diminutive Argentine seems to have homunculus sized feet that look even more ridiculously out sized by the ginormous appendages of the Spanish legend.
Busquets’ feet aren’t just grossly elongated but also hideously misshapen while Messi’s are hilariously small even for his five feet seven inches frame.
Though as per Twitter Community Notes, the image is clearly photoshopped. You can check out the real photo below –
Aguero took his retirement seriously
Aguero also caught flak for his portly demeanor. He seems to have had his feet off completely after retirement.
However, there might be a reason for his less than flattering look as he battles his own medical condition. The forward announced retirement from football at the age of 33 due to heart condition diagnosis in 2011 after complaining of chest pains and dizziness during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Alaves.
Aguero and Messi have been best friends for years. In fact, Messi was the biggest reason for Aguero’s move to Camp Nou.
They never played for Barca together as Messi left the club the same season and joined PSG.
It is also claimed that Messi’s decision making when it came to his decision to join Inter Miami may have been partly influenced by his compatriot.
Aguero has a house in Miami just like Messi and spends appreciable family time there. It would certainly be helpful for his fellow Argentine as he starts a new life in the US.
The players are accompanied in the snap by Aguero’s son Benjamin who has also been afforded critique by some fans claiming he resembles Argentina’s greatest football export Diego Maradona.
This clearly is not referring to footballing potential but rather his uncanny resemblance to ‘El Pibe de Oro’, the Golden boy.
