Jurgen is a Red: Full Lyrics of the Klopp Chant Sung to The Beatles Superhit

Football Chants, Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool

After two games played, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool currently sits 4th in the table, having won one, and drawn one. Although Liverpool won 3-1 at Anfield, against Bournemouth, it wasn’t an easy win by any means.

Having conceded an early goal, Liverpool quickly scored two goals before halftime, thanks to Luiz Diaz and Mohammad Salah, as the latter surpassed Steven Gerrard’s goalscoring record for The Reds with 187 goals, now only behind Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell.

Post halftime witnessed Mac Allister being sent off and Jota scoring another goal, giving Liverpool a comfortable two-goal lead against the Cherries.

As the match looked well under control for the Merseyside giants, passionate Liverpool fans started singing in the 75th minute, the Klopp song. The song goes like this;

“I’m so glad that Jurgen is a Red. I’m so glad he delivered what he said. Jurgen said to me, you know. We’ll win the Premier League, you know. He said so. I’m in love with him and I feel fine. I’m so glad that Jurgen is a Red. I’m so glad he delivered what he said. Jurgen said to me, you know. We’ll win the Premier League, you know. He said so. I’m in love with him and I feel fine.”

The song is inspired by the tune of a Beatles song called, “I feel fine” but it’s safe to say Jurgen Klopp doesn’t feel fine about it. Why? Why because the match wasn’t over yet, and Klopp was heard shouting “Can you stop singing that sh**! Can you stop it!”.

Liverpool fans aren’t happy either, as they think Klopp has no right to say, whether the fans should sing something or not. We also need to understand that Liverpool fans are known for their extreme passion and won’t compromise on it.

Also, this is not the first time the German has given the cold shoulder to the Liverpool fans for singing his song. To give you all a little bit of context, last season when Liverpool met Spurs during the tail end of the season, a nail-biting match followed by a 4-3 scoreline, which luckily went in Liverpool’s favor.

Fans started singing the Klopp song and he wasn’t happy back then. During the post-match interview, he said, “I have to say now, I love all of them but my song, don’t sing it! If you want to sing it, sing it after the game in the bars, wherever. Because it is always like it is closing the game.”

He further added, “We are 3-0 up and I hear ‘I’m so glad that Jurgen is a Red’. It is not over!” “It would be really nice if you could leave it for later and now it’s like 4-3, everyone is happy and we had in the final part of the game, the atmosphere was like an explosion that no one will forget that game ever. Let’s keep going.”

Klopp has been Liverpool’s greatest manager of the 21st Century. He is known for his passion just like Liverpool fans, albeit matches sometimes can be very intense, and emotions like this also fall under the umbrella of passion.

Last season wasn’t Liverpool’s best as they narrowly missed the champions league spot, this season it’s just the beginning, so Klopp might think this is not the right time for all these. No matter what, there is no denying he really loves the club and its people and might even sing his song if they win the league.

Also, there may be one more reason why he isn’t happy with this song, he is just a little bit shy to hear his name. Just a possibility and probability.
