Matt Turner has become sweet candy of the Fantasy Premier League community courtesy of his transfer to Nottingham Forest this summer.
The Arsenal academy graduate’s move to Steve Cooper’s team was completely in search of first-team football and indeed he has been entrusted to start between the sticks for Forest by head coach Steve Cooper.
Life is then good for Turner at the moment.
He is playing his first season of Premier League football and four weeks in he has now become a father again.
Turner shared on his Instagram page, pictures of his newborn girl.
Turner and his partner, Ashley Lynne, were holding their child in a moment of sweet embrace for the Turner family. Turner captioned the said picture, “So grateful to be together as a family for this moment. Ashley, you are an absolute rockstar, thank you for the most precious gift (x2)!!
I love our growing family and look forward to creating lasting memories together as a group of 4.
Everley, we are already sad that you won’t be this tiny ever again but so excited to watch you grow up with your big brother Easton!! We owe the two of you everything grateful to be together as a family for this moment.”
As wishes and blessings started to overwhelm the comment section as is expected on occasions such as these.
The FPL community had their worries regarding Turner. Many managers had started the season with Pickford and Turner in goal.
Turner was the best budget enabler and Pickford had the fixtures.
Pickford’s horrendous start this campaign has become a tale of the legends thus many managers even those without Pickford but with Turner in their squads would have been looking to play Turner in their FPL team.
Forest play Vincent Kompany’s Burnley at home on Monday who are yet to have any points this campaign.
Will Turner after all the hectic worries a father has to endure albeit less than the mother conceiving the child, be prepared to play the game on Monday?
Or will Cooper following an International break and the birth of his child provide Turner with a day off in the office?
On the surface, these thoughts may have a touch of tomfoolery when Turner is dealing with the practical realms of demand of a new father but Pickford’s performances dissolve anyone worrying about the Turner situation from any guilt of selfishness.
To add further worry to the mind of an FPL manager Pickford on the back of his own goal against Sheffield United will be up against Arteta’s men this week.
While Cooper may not have directly mentioned any details related to Turner in his press conference.
There are plenty of rumors doing the rounds of new signing Odysseas Vlacodimos might be taking over the gloves duty at Forest as reported by The Atheltic.
Turner may been seen as a second-choice keeper by Cooper. Even if Turner starts on Monday it will be interesting to see how long he can keep his place on the team
