Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag seem to have come to crossroads, and this could prove to be an ugly break-up. The controversy emerged after Man United’s 1-3 Loss to Arsenal at the Emirates in early September.
Post game, Ten Hag was asked about Sancho’s absence from the squad and the Dutch manager stated that it was not due to training but unimpressive performances in training that Jadon wasn’t in the squad.
Since, there is no turning back between the English starlet and Dutch manager, United will be looking to offload Sancho in the Winter transfer window and will be looking to bring in a replacement.
Trusted Man Utd insider, James Roades of The United Muppetiers YouTube channel revealed that Manchester United have a shortlist of 5 players to replace Sancho.
Yeremy Pino
First up is Spanish right winger, Yeremy Pino who currently plays for Villarreal in La liga. The soon to be 21-year-old is one of La Liga’s brightest youngsters.
As opposed to a Vinícius Jr, to whom the ball is given with the express purpose that he take on the defender, Pino is not as explicit with his wishes.
Dribbling is much more a tool in his arsenal. Small and shifty, the Villarreal starlet reminds of a con-man. His slight of foot is the ability to feint and change direction with such consummate control.
The Spaniard won’t be easy on United’s pocket as his release clause is said to be close to 67 million Pounds.
Nico Williams
Nico Williams is another one of La Liga’s young gems. He burst onto the scene, last season, playing for Athletic Bilbao.
Known to be quite a pace demon, Williams is capable of playing on both wings, using his blistering pace to finish of counter attacks with ease.
His biggest moment came when he scored the winner for La Roja to eliminate Portugal from the Nations League.
Williams has a transfer value of 40 million Euros and could prove to be a major reinforcement for the red devils.
Serge Gnabry
The most common name on the list, Serge Gnabry’s career at Bayern Munich has seemingly come to a stagnant point.
The German international barely starts for Thomas Tuchel’s side and could prove to be a smart move for United as he has something which other candidates on this list and all of United’s attack lack, which is experience in front of goal. He is known to be a great close control dribbler and very clinical in front of goal.
Antonio Nusa
Also known as “The Norwegian Neymar”, the Club Brugge winger is just 18 years old but even at such a tender age is making waves in the Belgian Pro League. The wonderful balance.
The ability to handle the ball in tight situations and, at the same time, be efficient in the way you play are some of the players traits which have earned him the privilege to be compared to Neymar.
Martin Terrier
Finally, it is Martin Terrier, who plays his football in France for Rennes. The 26-year-old Frenchman plays on the wing as well as upfront which makes him quite a dynamic pick for Ten Haag. Terrier has 50 goals in his 147 appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes, Lyon and Strasbourg.
