Virgil Van Dijk has been the backbone of Liverpool’s defence consistently for the past few years and he has received numerous praises from both fans and critics alike. He captains both his Liverpool side and his Netherland’s national side.
The Dutch player recently shared a picture on Instagram that has fans going crazy. Van Dijk posted a picture of himself and a group of famous individuals that has led fans to call the picture as the “most random linkup ever”.
The post has fans shocked because nobody expected or even imagined these individuals to be gathered in the same room. Who are these individuals that Van Dijk hanged out with?
Starting from the right, it is Adam Nathaniel “Young Adz” Williams, a rapper from the British hip-hop collective, D-Block Europe. He had many songs in the UK albums and songs chart.
At the far left is global sensation and beloved songwriter, Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran has been photographed with random linkups before. But now fans are shocked and loving this random union from the ‘Shape of You’ singer.
To Sheeran’s right is another British rapper-singer, Stormzy who is best known for his freestyling. Stormzy also is not a stranger to meeting footballers. His music video, ‘Mel Made Me Do It’ featured legends like coach Jose Mourinho and Arsenal legend Ian Wright and many others.
Some fans compared them to freshers from the first week of college, who go out with random people they find from the halls. Another fan described them as the group that teachers randomly select for assignments and projects.
Perhaps, the explanation for this union was the man in the middle, Francois Henry Bennahmias, whose name most fans didn’t know and had asked to see who he was in their reactions. Bennahmias is the CEO of Audemars Piguet, a Swedish company that manufactures luxury watches.
All the individuals in the picture are ambassadors and promoters of the company and their products, where Ed Sheeran has his own custom brand in their Royal Oak collection.
Sheeran is a super collector when it comes to luxury watches. Bennahmias is however stepping down as CEO, after 30 years of service to the company and will be succeeded by Ilaria Resta. Bennahmias departure from the company at the end of the year is what prompted this sudden and most random union of star power.
