When it comes to the very best in the business in the world of football, Adidas are right up there as the cream of the crop. They have manufactured and released some of the most famous football boots in the history of the game, with players such as David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Zinedine Zidane, Mohamed Salah, etc., wearing Adidas boots in their careers.
Young England sensation Jude Bellingham is the latest superstar who is contracted to Adidas. In Real Madrid’s recent games against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League and Granada in La Liga, the 20-year-old Englishman was seen wearing the Adidas Predator boots.
Those boots are the unreleased latest version of the Adidas Predator, which is inspired by the ones worn by legendary Real Madrid midfielder Zinedine Zidane.
These are going to be a tribute to the Predator series first released by Adidas almost three decades ago in 1994. The next-gen Adidas Predator boots are going to be a limited edition. As for the price, the Zizou-inspired next-gen Predator boots will cost a whopping €350.
There have been a lot of parallels and comparisons drawn between Bellingham and Zidane ever since the former arrived in the Spanish capital earlier this summer. First of all, like Zidane, Bellingham enjoys playing in a free role in the midfield, either as a #10 or an advanced #8.
Secondly, Bellingham has expressed time and again that Zidane is his idol and that he grew up watching his games. When the Birmingham-born midfielder arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu, he requested his jersey to have the ‘5’ at the back, the same number that Zidane donned on the back of his jersey during his tenure at Real Madrid.
Speaking from a purely commercial point of view, getting Bellingham to wear the boots inspired by the ones his idol, Zidane, used to wear is no less than a marketing masterstroke from Adidas. Fans seem to be super impressed with these gorgeous pair of shoes too, showing their admiration on Twitter.
It is beyond any doubt that Real Madrid’s latest ‘Galactico’ is arguably the hottest sensation in world football at the moment. In 17 games across all competitions, the midfielder has scored 15 goals and registered four assists, carrying the bulk of Los Blancos’ goalscoring burden.
The buzz around the player and his performances have not only seen him stake his claim as one of the world’s best players, but also makes him a marketing maverick for brands like Adidas.
