2 Man City Players Pedri Wants at Barcelona: Cyborg and Spider

Barcelona, Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Manchester City, Pedri

Barcelona are currently in 4th place in La Liga after playing 18 games this season, trailing the leaders Real Madrid by 10 points.

One of the primary reasons of their poor form can be attributed to the lack of goals from their star asset Robert Lewandowski.

Now Pedri has provided two potential suggestions to make his team stronger in attack and both are from Manchester City.

If someone is blessed with attacking firepower, it is their former boss Pep Guardiola.

It’s as if Manchester City are teasing everyone with an overflow of attacking options. From Jack Grealish to Phil Foden, there is no shortage of talent upfront at the club. Not to mention the new signing, Jeremy Doku, who has been impressive since his arrival.

And at the top of the pyramid are a certain Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

The former is a World Cup champion, while the latter was the runner-up for the 2023 Ballon d’Or men’s award. It doesn’t get any better than this, does it?

Pedri is currently injured but is expected to return to action against Real Betis in La Liga. Meanwhile, he appeared on the Twitch stream of the famous Esports commentator Ibai Llanos Garatea.

The Kings Leagues co-founder asked Pedri to name one player he would like to have at Barca.

The midfielder replied, “I would choose Messi at 19 or 22 years old, of course. But since that’s not possible, I’d go with Haaland.”

He further added, “He is a cyborg and scores a lot of goals. Lewandowski is not going to last until he is 60.”

The Norwegian superstar was already on the Catalans’ radar from his time in Borussia Dortmund.

In fact, his father also visited the Camp Nou premises to explore his son’s destination when leaving the German club.

However, due to their financial struggles and being billions in debt, Barca could not afford the move, and Haaland eventually joined Manchester City for €60m in 2022.

Haaland netted an incredible 86 goals in 89 total games during his time with Borussia Dortmund. He’s currently scored 71 goals in 75 matches for City.

It is a no-brainer that there is no better replacement for Lewandowski than Haaland at this point.

However, acquiring Haaland might be easier said than done. Barca’s financial struggles are immense, and the competition for him would be high, with arch-rivals Real Madrid also in contention.

Amidst this, Pedri also has an alternative for Barcelona. He referred to none other than the Spiderman of Argentina, Julián Álvarez.

“Julian Alvarez is also playing very well, ‘the spider’; he’s a very good player,” he told added in the Twitch stream with Ibai Llanos.

Despite not being a regular starter for Manchester City, Álvarez has consistently made a statement whenever given the opportunity, showcasing his versatility and celebrating goals with the Spiderman’s ‘ Web-shooting’ celebration.

In 77 appearances for the Premier League club, Julián Álvarez scored 29 goals and assisted on 14 occasions. You can play him in any position up front, and he will score.

Bought for just a £14.1m steal deal from River Plate, he effectively filled in for Haaland during his injury, scoring in crucial moments.

Not to mention, he is a freaking World Cup champion. We also boast of titles like the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Copa America, and Club World Cup in his bag, and all at the age of 23.

For Barcelona, Haaland might be too expensive to afford, but Julian Alvarez can be a viable option for the future. Barca fans will surely be drooling over these potential deals.
