Real Madrid kicked off their 2024 in positive fashion and had to work hard to secure a 1-0 win over Mallorca to keep their 2023/24 La Liga title ambitions on track.
The match was a bit of a scrappy affair, with Brahim Diaz producing an incredible miss from open range that left fans bamboozled.
However, something that caught the attention of a lot of people was pertaining to something that Los Blancos opted to debut before the game began.
As the Real Madrid players headed into the Santiago Bernabeu before the game, they seemingly debuted a brand new pre-match training jacket created by Adidas.
This was the first time that the players were seen in public wearing this jacket and what was rather surprising is that this attire wasn’t even leaked beforehand.
Many hours before the game, Real Madrid’s official Twitter account posted a clip of the players wearing this jacket while boarding the bus that would take them to the stadium.
The 2024 Real Madrid pre-match jacket has a colour-block design and is mainly a dark navy jacket that has purple and yellow blocks designed all over it.
It also has three yellow stripes over the side of the jackets and the Adidas logo is the perfomax logo that sees their brand name also displayed on the front.
The pre-match jacket has been created by Adidas to match the colours of their 2024 training range that players wear in warm-up sessions and in training. Indeed, recently the Real Madrid players were seen wearing training attires with similar colour pattern as this jacket.
Incidentally, Adidas is also reportedly set to release a new Real Madrid fourth kit for this season that will be of a purple colour and have similar shades as this jacket.
Football Twitter has been mightily impressed by how hard Adidas have worked to create this gorgeous pre-match jacket for the Real Madrid squad and how well it suits the players as well.
There has been widespread praise for Adidas for finally nailing their design of an official Real Madrid attire after being associated with them for so long.
Some have even argued that this is the best thing produced by the German brand for Los Blancos in over a decade, perhaps indicating the 2012-13 home kit that they created which was a hit among the supporters.
With that being said, Adidas have not yet made this pre-match jacket available to the common public or in any of their stores.
That probably means that these jackets were tailor-made for the Real Madrid players themselves and the brand probably wanted to see the initial reactions before deciding whether to issue a widespread release or not.
For the time being, fans can only find older versions of Real Madrid’s pre-match jackets available on their online store, being priced at around the $125 to $170 range.
Going by the popularity of this brand-new jacket, one can probably expect it to be priced at a considerably higher range because a lot of Los Blancos’ fanatics will be ready to pay to represent their club by wearing the best attires.
