Liverpool Fans Unveil New Curtis Jones Chant Sung to 1988 Hit ‘There She Goes’

Curtis Jones, Football Chants, Liverpool

Coming up from the academic ranks of Liverpool, Curtis Jones hasn’t had everything easy. Despite there being no doubts about his potential, he has suffered from inconsistencies and injuries time and again.

He was also tagged as more of a rotational player in Klopp’s squad. However, patience bears its fruit.

Today, everything seems to have been going according to plan and Curtis Jones has become much more of a common name in the starting lineup. And now, he has the fans’ recognition by his side as well.

A video emerged on X.com featuring a couple of Liverpool fans on a train vibing to the new Curtis Jones song. The lyrics go-

CURTIS JONES
CURTIS JONES CAN PLAY
RACING THROUGH MY BRAIN
AND I JUST CAN’T CONTAIN
HOW CURTIS PLAYS THE GAME!!

This chant was based on ‘There She Goes,’ a song by the English rock band The La’s. First released in 1988, it has amassed over 39 million views on YouTube.

Curtis Jones this season

Curtis Jones has been with Liverpool since the age of 9 before being handed his first professional contract with the club in February 2018.

The journey has been full of ups and downs, but what defines Jones is his mindset and perseverance.

The 22-year-old Scouser has emerged as a regular fixture in the Reds’ midfield this season.

Jones, who now boasts 7 goal contributions in his last 21 games, is one of first names on the team sheet.

Jones got his wish

Speaking on the latest episode of the We Are Liverpool podcast, Jones admits he would “like” a song of his own on the terraces, but that he doesn’t wish to infringe upon the tune attached to the Reds’ left-back.

“I’ve heard my name sang around. I’d like a song, I’m not gonna sit here and lie, yeah I’d like a song,” said Jones when asked about the prospect of hearing his name ringing out around Anfield.

“But yeah I’d like my own song, so I’ll see what they come up with”, he added.

Fans have now made his wish come true. Safe to say Curtis Jones couldn’t have thought of a better way to start off his new year.
