Tottenham’s Transfer Radar Locked on Willian Pacho and Feyenoord Dynamo

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur is in the midst of a structural revamp under Ange Postecoglou. The Lilywhites have been fairly impressive this season, currently holding the 5th spot in the league as they battle it out for a Champions League spot next year.

However, Tottenham is far from clinching the trophy and Ange Postecoglou is well aware that to contend with the European powerhouses, the primary requisite is to build a competitive squad.

Ange Postecoglou made no secret heading into the transfer window that he was keen to bolster his defensive ranks. Tottenham has already strengthened their defense this month, having recruited Romania international Radu Dragusin from Genoa.

But Ange Postecoglou is still not done, as Tottenham Hotspur is now reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt center-back Willian Pacho as well.

The 22-year-old has made a significant impression in the Bundesliga this season after joining from Royal Antwerp in the summer transfer window.

The Ecuador international has played a crucial role in Frankfurt’s backline, contributing to a defense that has conceded only 22 league goals this season. This achievement leaves Dino Toppmoller’s side with the third-best defensive record in the German top flight.

Pacho has played every minute of Frankfurt’s 19 Bundesliga matches, and he has also made nine additional appearances across the DFB-Pokal and the Europa Conference League.

Several Premier League clubs are said to be keen on Pacho as he has been labeled as ‘one to watch’ during the summer transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur will have to go down to the wire to get his signature done.

Frankfurt will be in a strong position if they decide to entertain a sale, as Pacho is under contract until the summer of 2028. However, if they do decide to sell, the estimated price tag is around €22 million.

The defender is not currently a priority for Spurs, but he is someone the club could consider in the summer months.

Now, speaking of the attacking reinforcement for the upcoming summer, Tottenham is on the lookout for the forward of Eredivisie club Feyenoord – Santiago Giménez.

Richarlison is yet to establish himself as a lethal and consistent goal-scorer, prompting the Lilywhites to consider a move for Giménez. The Mexican forward could present a more potent goal-scoring threat for Spurs, improving their efficiency in the box.

The 22-year-old forward has been in splendid form this season, scoring 20 goals in 19 appearances for his side. With 43 goals in just 64 games for Feyenoord, he has been a menace in the final third.

Evidently, Feyenoord will not let their potent striker leave without a fight as they are reportedly demanding a whopping €60m (£51.6m) for his signature. Moreover, Tottenham will have to battle it out with other clubs like Arsenal, who have been closely following the forward.

But the deal might be questionable for the Lilywhites, given reports on the strained relationship between Tottenham and Feyenoord. Tensions arose when the Premier League side attempted to lure away their manager, Arne Slot, earlier this year.

But Postecoglou needs to convince one man, and that is Giménez’s father. It is believed that he will play a crucial role in anything related to a potential future move, as he is responsible for discussing transfers.

All the possibilities are still up in the air, but the tug of war for Giménez would be a thing to watch out for in the summer.
