Fulham is actively pursuing the signature of Lyon’s dynamic attacking midfielder, Rayan Cherki.
The clubs are currently engrossed in negotiations over a potential £30 million deal that could see the highly-touted French youth international don the Craven Cottage colors.
Cherki, of Algerian and Italian descent, is a versatile two-footed player known for his adept dribbling, passing prowess, and proficiency in taking free kicks.
Drawing comparisons to both Hatem Ben Arfa and Lyon teammate Houssem Aouar, Cherki has showcased his talent in 19 Ligue 1 appearances during the current 23/24 season, contributing three assists.
His skill set includes the ability to create opportunities through crosses and through balls.
However, Fulham faced a setback in their pursuit of another midfielder, Andre from Fluminense, as explained by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Despite the club’s appreciation for Andre’s talents, Romano reveals that Fulham refrained from activating the option to sign the midfielder due to the non-sale of Joao Palhinha.
