There’s little doubt that Jamie Vardy is a veritable legend of English football. His story of going on from being a non-league footballer in his mid-20s to a Premier League champion is one that will celebrated in the footballing folklore for decades to come.
Even right now, in the twilight of his career at the age of 37, Vardy is spearheading Leicester City‘s push for promotion back to the Premier League with 14 goals and an assist in 28 Championship games.
It is only fair, therefore, for a player of his stature to receive a grand honour in the form of a statue or a mural. Duly, the eccentric Red Bull-loving Englishman has earned himself a mural at the King Power Stadium.
However, like many a legend before him, the artwork has divided the passers-by.
Many were quick to point out other inspirations for the mural.
