Since his breakout season with Borussia Dortmund in 2016, Christian Pulisic has become a household name in European football. After a rather uninspiring stint with Chelsea, the USMNT star finds himself representing the Rossoneri.
Thanks to his Sicilian lineage, life in Italy has been fairly smooth.
Now, ahead of the 2024 Copa America, Pulisic is back in his homeland of the United States of America, but this visit has been a bit different. The reason is his blooming relationship with Alexa Melton.
The Epson Tour star made her US Open debut earlier this month and, since then, the rumours picked up of her dating Christian Pulisic.
In a series of pictures posted on her social media account, a candid snap of her giggling with Pulisic was hard to miss the eyes.
Pulisic also commented on the post and complemented Melton’s top, to which the golfer had a flirtatious reply, “looks way better on u than me.”
Fellow rookie golfer, Briana Chacon commented on the post, “Hard launch” to which Melton replied, “I’m classifying this as a soft launch.”
The favour was returned by Pulisic when he uploaded a snap together where the USMNT captain was seen holding an umbrella over Melton’s head. Melton commented under the post, “Best umbrella holder.”
Pulisic’s national team colleague, Timothy Weah, also commented with a GIF that read, “You cuffed,” indicating the winger being tied up in a relationship.
This is the first time “Captain America” has gone public about his relationship as he posted a story (featured image above) on his IG account as the couple is seen cosying up on a jet ski.
Alexa Melton, 23, is an American pro golfer with Filipino heritage. After graduating from the University of Southern California (USC), she turned pro last year.
Despite being in her rookie stage as a pro golfer, Melton bagged some notable brand deals with J. Lindeberg and Oakley.
Just like their relationship, Melton’s career is at an early stage with a career winning amounting to $11,531, according to Epson Tour’s website.
She has participated in 9 events so far, making 5 cuts. “If I don’t graduate from USC, play on the LPGA, get married to a dude over 6ft, start a family, adopt an English bulldog named Bertrum, move to the lake or beach and/or skydived in this decade, I don’t want it,” Melton wrote in a post from 2020 after turning 20.
The first two boxes of her list can be ticked but the third criterion of marrying a guy over 6ft can be a problem if she’s dating Pulisic. USMNT’s youngest-ever top scorer is only 5’10”, but as things are going, the two inches won’t be a roadblock.
Pulisic was previously linked to a romantic relationship with Natalie Burkholder, but that was far from confirmed by any sources close to the family or hinted by any of their social media activities.
With the Copa America hosts kicking off their journey on 24th June, one can hope to catch a glimpse of Melton in the stands. With some added lady luck by Pulisic’s side, this might ultimately be the year when ‘soccer’ truly prevails over football.
