The 2024/25 Premier League campaign is now just days away from beginning. That means very little time remaining for the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) users to finalize their teams.
But it seems like the official Fantasy Premier League application has started to malfunction at the worst possible period.
The official Fantasy Premier League application is used by millions of FPL managers around the globe. It’s easy to access, gives a ton of information on players such as their fixture difficulty, influence and more.
But recently there have been complaints about strange glitches that have made the official application almost impossible to maneuver.
A lot of fans have started to raise the issue over how the jersey images of players from difficult teams are coming as blank in the official application.
There are just no faces of any player visible in a user’s FPL team, coming either as blank or a blank cross symbol instead.
This problem has been plaguing users from the beginning of August (2024) and shows no signs of being fixed by the technical team.
A lot of users have also confirmed that they re-installed the application but the same issue keeps plaguing them.
Not only are the kits or face models of players not available, but users are also facing difficulty in getting to know the key stats for the players.
Indeed, the ‘player info’ page is coming as entirely blank because of this problem too. That means a user hoping to make changes through the official FPL application cannot know a player’s fixture difficulty, their stats from previous seasons or how much they’re picked.
In this instance, a user would have to use another football statistic application or website to get the necessary information for the players on FPL instead.
The FPL managers are being able to make changes to their team despite the glitch, but the current problems are prominent and frustrating ones.
It seems like the issue has only been plaguing Android mobile phone users and has not impacted those using IPhone models.
What is perhaps most surprising is that despite a lot of people complaining, the Fantasy Premier League social media has totally turned a deaf ear to the entire issue.
They have not responded to most of the queries and complaints on X and haven’t released a statement on the issue or potential ways in which users can fix the glitch either.
This problem hasn’t impacted the official Fantasy Premier League website, where users can easily make changes while seeing all the necessary statistical information too.
With the FPL game-week one deadline being on Friday (August 16), there is pressure on the game-designers to fix this issue at the earliest or risk seeing their official application being uninstalled on thousands of Android devices as there are many alternative apps available to do the job too.
