Leaked 2024 Bayern Munich Oktoberfest Kit Annoys Fans: ‘Logo Looks Like Leverkusen’

Leaked 2024 Bayern Munich Oktoberfest Kit Annoys Fans: ‘Logo Looks Like Leverkusen’

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival held in Munich, Germany and begins typically in late September lasting 16 to 18 days.

This celebration is characterised by the setting up of large beer tents by Munich’s traditional breweries, each offering their specially crafted beers for the festival. Attendees also usually wear traditional Bavarian clothing such as lederhosen for men and dirndls for women.

Now, picture this: you’re at the Wiesn, sipping on a cold beer, when the world’s best football team strolls in to join the festivities. This isn’t a fantasy—it’s a tradition.

Every year during Oktoberfest, Bayern Munich‘s players and staff, clad in traditional Bavarian clothing, make their way to the festival. They embrace the lively atmosphere and enjoy a beer or two, blending seamlessly into the world’s largest folk festival.

Bayern Munich also honors Oktoberfest on the pitch by wearing a special edition Oktoberfest jersey, a tradition that has become a staple of the festival. This custom jersey is worn only once each season during the festival period, adding to its exclusivity.

Last year’s Oktoberfest jersey featured an olive green base with white logos and crests. The design incorporated a subtle floral pattern, echoing the style seen in Bayern’s Champions League kit but in a different color scheme.

With Oktoberfest just around the corner, leaks have surfaced revealing the latest one-off Oktoberfest kit design. The colors are inspired by the traditional green worn by men during the festival, with the jersey also showcasing a unique Wiesn version of the Bayern Munich badge.

This year’s shirt boasts a dark green base with white accents on the shoulders and club branding. The kit also includes the alternative Adidas Trefoil logo, which has become a popular feature in many kits this season, adding an elegant, on-theme touch compared to the usual three stripes.

The base pattern of the Oktoberfest kit mirrors that of Bayern’s third kit, featuring a diamond pattern and a classic collar.

While the kit looks visually appealing in renderings, fans have had mixed reactions upon seeing physical copies.

The first noticeable difference is the color, which appears darker in person—almost a greenish-blue—deviating from the true festival colors.

The shirt also sees the return of the collar in a Bayern kit, which tends to divide opinions.

Fans online are also calling it a T-Mobile employee uniform thanks to the rather large and in your face T-Mobile logo that takes away from the true design of the kit.

The Wiesn version of the usual logo has also sparked a debate, with some fans not taking a liking to the new look logo, believing it’s too much and too complex while others enjoy the elegance of the new crest.

The true colours of the kit will only be seen when Bayern Munich field it, which is reportedly going to be on 28th September when Bayern Munich face Bayer Leverkusen.
