One name that has dominated European football over the last few years has been Jude Bellingham. His parents also have been in the spotlight due to how heavily invested they are in their children’s footballing journey.
While his father Mark handles his footballing decisions, his mother Denise does a great job at managing his finances.
Recently, another member of the family that seems to have caught people’s attention has been his brother, Jobe.
The two brothers look almost identical having very similar facial features and body structure.
A lot of people are surprised with the possibility that identical twins have displayed equal potential to go on to become significant figures in the football world.
There is quite a buzz on social media when photos of the two of them together are circulated. So much so, that it has prompted a few to say that Jobe looks more like Jude, than Jude himself.
To make matters worse, both of them have opted for the same haircut: Afro with high top, low taper and a precise hairline.
They have the same sort of sharp nose, identical eyes and symmetrical face.
If someone were to take an extremely close look, you would be able to spot a few differences in terms of Jude’s face being a little bit more elongated and a defined jawline, whereas Jobe having a rounder and chubbier face which makes the latter look slightly younger.
What’s more? They share a similar style and manner of speaking.
One feature that saves us from mistaking one for another, is Jude’s trademark goatee. The Bellingham bros also seem to have a proclivity towards flamboyant clothing as they even featured together at the Paris Fashion Week for Louis Vuitton last year.
In fact, David Beckham recently remarked on Jude’s fashion sense being the best according to him right now. But c’mon guys, how could we be certain that it wasn’t Jobe he was complimenting?
The brothers also seem to have an identical style of play.
While Jude was deployed in a more attacking role in Real Madrid last year, he is known for his lanky physique with a height of 6ft 1inch and weighing almost 75 kgs. Jobe, at 6ft 3inch and weighing almost the same as his brother, is a towering physical presence. This would further make it almost impossible to differentiate between the two, if they were to play on the same side.
But a closer look at their birth details, would lead you to a shocking revelation that they aren’t twins at all.
Jude and Jobe have an age gap of 2 years between them. Jude was born on 29 June 2003 in Stourbridge, U.K. Jobe who is now 18 years old and was born on 23 September 2005 in the same place as his elder brother.
While this might altogether eliminate the possibility of the twin takeover of football, it also leads to another interesting observation. When have we ever seen two non-twin siblings look this alike ever before?
Looks aside, While Jobe looks to embark on a successful footballing career mirroring the success of his elder brother, only time will tell if he can handle the pressure of the ever-competitive football world at such a tender age.
It’s time for the brothers to make a joint statement to the press and on social media clarifying their non-twin status to finally put to rest the incessant chatter around their physical attributes.
However, let’s be honest. Even their own words might not be enough to convince fans to stop believing what their eyes see.
