Barcelona have had an excellent start to the Hansi Flick era by winning all four of their opening matches of the 2024/25 La Liga campaign. That included a dominant 7-0 battering of Real Valladolid before the September international break, piling on pressure on Real Madrid from the get-go.
The Blaugrana might’ve only signed one player this summer with the return of Dani Olmo, but they still boast a squad filled with quality players. That includes goal machine Robert Lewandowski, the sensational Lamine Yamal, the creative Raphinha as well as midfield aces Pedri, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.
As a result, Barcelona also have one of the biggest wage-bills in football, exceeding over £190 million. The average salary of a first-team squad player is £142,000-a-week, with some obviously getting more than others. Despite that, the Blaugrana players are well paid and can afford to spend that on luxury cars too!
Raphinha’s Range Rover
The Barcelona players love to drive into training sessions in their expensive cars to show off their reputation of being elite sportspersons in the country. Raphinha has made it a habit to arriving in training driving a Range Rover Evoque 2022 edition.
This is a diesel premium SUV that can occupy up to 5-6 people. The Range Rover Evoque 2022 can cost just over £45,000 for the normal edition and potentially over £60,000 or £70,000 for different editions with more horsepower.
The ‘Cupra’ Boys At Barcelona
Barcelona have a partnership with the Spanish car brand ‘Cupra’ and the company has gifted their vehicles to the first-team members too. While most of the players opt against driving their ‘company cars’, Fermin Lopez is unashamed about using the car gifted to him by Cupra.
He has been seen driving to training on the Cupra Formentor 2023 edition and described the car as ‘crazy’ while advertising for it. The Cupra Formentor is a coup SUV that is a five-seater model and the 2024 model is priced at around £32,000 to £51,000 in Europe.
Just like his good buddy Fermin, Lamine Yamal also loves being driven around by his close ones the Cupra Formentor 2023 edition owned by him. Even though he can’t legally drive yet, he likes riding around in that vehicle – which is basically the same model as the one owned by Fermin.
Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has an almost similar Cupra Formentor 2023 model as the one driven around by Yamal. Even Torres’ vehicle is white, but having the same specifications as the ones driven around by some of his younger teammates at Barcelona.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen special Cupra connection
Even Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen loves to drive around the Cupra, but he has a long-standing partnership with the brand. The German goalkeeper is actually the first footballing ambassador for the brand and spoke of his decision to advertize the brand, saying in 2020: “I identify with the values of the brand: passion, determination and high performance, just as in their connection with Barcelona share Cupra’s attention to detail, exclusivity and sporting performance. I want to enjoy this partnership and I will be fully committed to brand projects and to driving the most special models.”
He has also been pictured driving to training in his new Cupra Ateca 2024 edition that he was gifted thanks to his association with the brand. The Cupra Ateca is also an SUV coup and a five-seater vehicle and costs from £36,000-£50,000.
Pedri and Frenkie de Jong’s Porsche vehicles
Barcelona’s star midfielder Pedri, however, does not seem to be that keen on driving around his club-gifted Cupra to training. He is mostly seen driving out a Porsche Macan whenever driving around the city or having to arrive to the sessions.
The Porsche Macan is an electric vehicle and is definitely on the expensive side, mostly as it’s electric and the makers of the cars. The Porsche Macan can cost one over £80,000 in Europe but a well-paid player like Pedri obviously won’t have any issues dishing that out for his prime five-seating vehicle.
But Pedri is not the only Barcelona midfielder be riding around in a Porsche vehicle. That is because Frenkie de Jong also loves driving around a Porsche Macan S model, which costs just over £97,000 in Europe.
The Land Rover Fanatics
Eric Garcia has been adapted into the Barcelona squad after spending the 2022/23 season on loan at Girona. Even though he isn’t a first-team regular, that doesn’t stop the ex-Manchester City centre-back from showing off his riches by driving around his Land Rover Defender 75th Anniversary Edition.
This is a special edition model of Land Rover’s popular vehicle, which is sturdy enough to be driven around in rough surfaces and is a five-seater vehicle. The Land Rover Defender limited edition model can put one back by over £85,000 and it seems like Garcia invested a lot of money into buying this comfort car.
Just like Garcia, Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski also appears to be a big fan of Land Rover vehicles. That is because the Polish goal machine often turns up into Barcelona training driving around the Land Rover 2024 Sport.
The Land Rover 2024 Sport starts from over £100,000 – which is not really much for Lewandowski considering he is one of the highest-paid players in the Barcelona squad.
Ronald Araujo’s beautiful BMW
Barcelona’s star defender Ronald Araujo is also quite the car fanatic and has a range of different vehicles in his garage. But he likes to drive around his BMW M4 vehicle around the city and was involved in an embarrassing situation in 2022 when he accidentally ran over the foot of a fan while driving around the city. A BMW M4 Coup model can cost around £83,000 in Europe and has a four-to-five seater capacity.
It’s not exactly surprising that the majority of Barcelona’s players have extremely lavish cars considering how high their average salary is. What fans will hope that apart from living an expensive lifestyle, the players can turn up their magic on the pitch to help the Blaugrana win major trophies in Hansi Flick’s first season.
