How Declan Rice Made the Most of His Red Card Ban: Catwalks, IG Photography, More

Declan Rice has had quite the eventful start to the 2024/25 season. He sparked controversy with a strange sending-off in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brighton and then shut up the booing Ireland fans with an impressive goal in the UEFA Nations League clash against the Republic of Ireland.

The English midfielder was, however, forced to miss Arsenal’s recent 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. The red card in the Brighton match means he actually gets some time to relax in the crazy schedule of matches, which is rare considering that Rice is a regular starter for both Mikel Arteta’s side and England.

The 24-year-old midfielder took full advantage of this small window of inaction, which allowed him to focus on some other off-the-field activities. He managed to use his ‘free time’ rather wisely and entered the world of fashion by making his debut in the London Fashion Week for its 2024 edition.

Declan Rice Makes London Fashion Week Appearance

He decided to model for the British-African brand Labrum, who showcased their Spring/Summer 2025’ collection at the Emirates Stadium.

Rice decided to model for them by wearing a navy suit with white fabric, wearing a white shirt underneath the suit. He also decided to wear a pair of black Adidas’ superstars to complete the look, carrying off the rather unique attire impressively.

While the Labrum suit that Rice worn has not been released yet, the London-based brand’s suits and blazers are normally quite expensive.

A Labrum blazer can set you back by £466 (discounted price) in an online store like Farfetch. The Adidas Superstar that he appears to be wearing in the London Fashion Week catwalk looks to be the Superstar 82 edition, which costs around £120.

The Arsenal midfielder actually looks to be quite pleased to have taken some time away from football for this modeling gig, as he said after his London Fashion Week debut: “It might be a career after football now, I don’t know but no I enjoy these type of things. I love fashion and to be asked to be involved in this is really special so you know it was something I couldn’t turn down and then to do it now I’m here, I’m really, really happy.”

What Other Hobbies Does Rice Have Outside Football?

But modeling was not the only part-time hobby that Rice pursued during his time off in the ‘suspension’ week for Arsenal.

He also decided to move forward with his passion with photography doing something unique that can actually not be expected from footballers.

For those unknowing, the English midfielder loves photography and has often been seen messing around with the Arsenal photographer’s cameras in training session.

Well, Rice decided to take a step forward into pursuing his love for photography and showing off his skills in a more public way.

During the September international break, the Arsenal midfielder decided to create a personalized Instagram account only showing off his photography skills.

The account named as ‘Dr.Jpg’ has over 53,000 followers already and is just a case of the midfielder displaying his knack of taking attractive pictures.

The Arsenal star has only made three posts so far on his new account. The first post saw him taking pictures of his England teammates in the international break and also a sweet little picture of an empty Wembley Stadium.

Soon after, he also posted pictures of his ‘Golf Life’ by showing off his hobby of amateur golfing, where he can be seen in Golf attire and having some fun indulging in another sport besides football.

Rice has actually been partaking in golf since even before he joined Arsenal. He has been involved in playing golf with one of the best in the sport in Rory McIlroy, and even appeared in Tubes and Ange’s popular ‘Golf Life’ YouTube channel where he challenged them to a nine holes of golf encounter.

Even though Rice was not involved in the London derby, he also decided to showcase his love for the Emirates Stadium by recently posting some nice pictures of the outer beauty of the stadium.

The Arsenal midfielder might be a devoted professional and one of the most efficient midfielders in the Premier League, but it’s clear that he has a variety of other hobbies than just being obsessive about football and isn’t scared off showing that off either.
