Chelsea’s FC25 player rating reveal video gave us fans an unexpected comedic gem, courtesy of Cole Palmer.
In a clip taken from the video, Palmer, Marc Cucurella, and Jadon Sancho are discussing their ratings and then get into a debate- if Cucurella’s card is rare or non rare?
Sancho and Cucurella confidently back the rare card theory, but Palmer, with his signature dry humor, drops the bomb: “He’s non-rare, mate. I’ve quick sold him about five times.” It’s another iconic quote from Palmer that will find its way into a long list of Palmer memes.
His knowledge of FC 25 is also undeniably on point as Cucurella is surprisingly a non-rare 82-rated card.
For those familiar with Palmer, this blunt, almost accidental humor is exactly what makes him a fan favourite, his delivery is so matter-of-fact, it’s impossible not to laugh. Palmer most definitely means no disrespect towards his teammate but the moment is hilarious nonetheless.
In a brilliant twist of fate—perhaps even a deliberate one—FC 25 has cleverly included Cucurella in Cole Palmer’s Player of the Month (POTM) Squad Building Challenge (SBC).
EA took the meme a step further by labeling one of the squads “Non Rare,” where players can complete the mini SBC and earn a reward, you guessed it- a non rare Marc Cucurella card.
And the irony? You can unlock it by trading in just 11 bronze players—a perfect nod to Palmer’s relentless discarding of the Spanish defender in game.
We now know for sure is that when Palmer hops onto FC25 to complete his own SBC, the reward Cucurella he gets is going to be quick sold almost immediately, with zero hesitation.
Poor Cucurella was left shocked to find out that even though he’s 82 rated, he’s a non rare in game. There’s no doubt that Cucurella will have choice words for EA employees about his rating, especially after a stellar Euros campaign with Spain.
