AS Roma 1993 Barilla Kit Remake is Here—But Can You Tell it Apart from the Original?

AS Roma 1993 Barilla Kit Remake is Here—But Can You Tell it Apart from the Original?

Football nostalgia is hit a high as Adidas has outdone itself in the remake of AS Roma’s 1993/94, which is now on sale in stores.

The shirt features the same rich maroon base, known as “Legacy Burgundy,” paired with bright orange accents on the collar, sleeves, and signature Adidas three stripes along the shoulders.

This color combination was iconic during Roma’s 1992-94 seasons, and it brings back memories of a young Francesco Totti, who made his Serie A debut in this very shirt.

The polo-style collar adds a retro touch, while the thick logos, characteristic of 1990s football kits, enhance the authenticity of the remake. The Trefoil Adidas logo and the Roma Lupetto crest are both embroidered in bright orange. Along with this the iconic Barilla sponsor also stays on the front of the shirt.

This ensures that every detail of the shirt feels like a time capsule from the early 90s era of football design.

The minor difference that was spotted by an owner of the original kit was that the remake is missing the two small copyright circle “©” above and below the Adidas Trefoil logo.

When it comes to pricing, the Adidas x Roma 1993-94 remake is priced at an affordable $79.99, we say affordable because it is well known that prices can go through the roof for not just retro kits but their remakes as well.

Boasting a striking design and rich historical significance, this kit is sure to captivate both dedicated Roma fans and collectors of vintage football shirts. Its release feels perfectly timed, as Adidas appears poised to expand its presence in the retro kit market.

It may be a tad bit disappointing for Roma fans that their new stars won’t get to sport this iconic look on the field, but there’s hope that Adidas will integrate the colors of this kit into future season jerseys.
