Qatari Player Mocks Kylian Mbappe’s Offside Goal Celebration But Why

Football Celebrations, Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe had a no-good, horrible El Clasico debut as he witnessed Real Madrid thrashed by a 4-0 margin by Barcelona.

Mbappe was expertly baited into making mistakes by the Barcelona backline high line.

He was caught offside on eight occasions.

The Frenchman actually scored twice past Inaki Pena, but both were ruled out offside.

But he didn’t realize that after seemingly putting Los Blancos in the lead in the first half.

He managed to ‘dink’ a shot over Pena and celebrated with a ‘dinking’ gesture.

Seconds later, he realized it was offside.

The celebration has been the butt of many jokes.

It was even mocked by Qatar forward Akram Afif during Al-Sadd’s 3-0 win over Al-Wakrah in the Qatar Stars League recently.

Afif’s celebration after scoring went viral as he did Mbappe’s trademark ‘arms closed’ gesture before making that ‘dink’ symbol with his hands too.

The reason for that is because Afif also managed to dink it over the goalkeeper for his goal, only for it to actually stand.

The 27-year-old, who learnt a lot from Barcelona legend Xavi at the Aspire Academy, has a history of outlandish celebration.

He even once did a ‘magic trick’ celebration with a card showing an ‘S’ symbol in Qatar’s win over X in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup final earlier in 2024.
