Wojciech Szczesny might not have been involved in Barcelona’s 4-0 romp of Real Madrid in his first El Clasico, but celebrated the success like a proud uncle.
The 36-year-old watched with pride as Inaki Pena produced an amazing performance.
While Pena’s heroics might further restrict Szczesny’s chances of playing for the Blaugrana, he didn’t looked perturbed at all.
After the match, the Barcelona social media team posted a clip of the players celebrating at the Santiago Bernabeu dressing room.
In one clip, midfielder Marc Casado can be heard loudly shouting ‘Vamos’ before the rest of the players start jumping in celebration.
But a behind the scenes footage of that clip shows Szczesny in the background calmly enjoying a smoke.
While it’s not clear if he’s smoking a cigarette or a vape, some smoke clearly comes out of the goalkeeper’s mouth in the background.
Szcznesny has reiterated in the past that he doesn’t care about what people thinking about his smoking habits and that he doesn’t do it in public.
Well, it appears he broke that rule in the hysteria of the El Clasico. Hansi Flick is normally a strict disciplinarian, but it seems he allowed Szczesny to have a celebratory smoke to celebrate the huge win.
