Hansi Flick has been a catalyst for change at Barcelona, and has produced fantastic results instantly.
Flick’s work sees Barcelona sit top of La Liga, with 11 wins from 12 games and a massive 9 points ahead of rivals Real Madrid this early in the season.
Barca have found fresh energy thanks to Flick’s trust in building a youthful core, and goalscoring has come in abundance with more direct football. Barcelona have scored 40 goals already this season in La Liga, 19 more than next nearest Real Madrid.
But it’s not just on-field changes that Flick has implemented, it’s off-field changes as well.
Upon his arrival Hansi Flick brought about a new rule that involves only wearing Barcelona related merchandise and clothing pre match. He did this to instill a sense of unity and attachment to the club.
The player that this new rule impacted the most was French right back Jules Kounde who’s become a fashion icon thanks to his pre match tunnel fits, but ever since Flick has come his creativity has been dampened- or so we assumed.
Images circulating online show us that Kounde has found a loophole in Flick’s rule, and he’s making full use of it. On multiple occasions Jules Kounde has been snapped by paparazzi walking out of games looking dapper in what’s being called post-match fits, a new genre of football fashion.
Jules Kounde has decided that since he cannot wear his stylish pieces pre-match, he’s going to do it post match. It just shows that you can take a man down but never his idea.
These post match fits are as stylish as his pre match fits, some of the outfits he has worn exiting the games include a stylish dark red shirt against Sevilla, a floral black and white top with sunglasses, and a blue and cream zip up of sorts along with baggy-balloon like pants.
When it comes to fashion there is just something about what Kounde does with his outfits, he picks the right combinations and always manages to pull off some of the outrageous looks and pairings he comes up with. And more often than not all these looks go viral on social media.
What probably started off as just pre match fits for Kounde, has now become a huge part of his life as he collaborates with popular brands like Jacquemus and Adidas. Stars like Kounde continue to prove that the world of fashion and football/sport is continuously intertwining.
As for bending Flick’s rules, there shouldn’t be too much of a problem for Kounde who is giving it his all on the pitch. The defender has picked up 1 goal and 4 assists in 14 starts for Barcelona. He continues to provide defensive stability for Flick and also great attacking output.
With top class performances it’s likely that Flick won’t even bat an eye to what Kounde is upto post match and what he’s wearing. But from a fan perspective it’s extreme commitment from Kounde to show off his style and once again get back to being a fashion icon.
