Who Is PlanetFaz? The Man Utd YouTuber Under Fire for Harassing Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United finally won their first match of the 2024/25 Europa League against PAOK. An Amad Diallo special helped them to a 2-0 match, but something controversial happened with their other young winger Alejandro Garnacho before the match even kicked off.

As Garnacho was getting ready to go into Old Trafford, he took some time to sign autographs for supporters outside the stadium. It was during this ordeal that he was confronted by a Manchester United Youtuber/Content creator named PlanetFaz.

The supporter started harassing him for Garnacho’s sloppy performance against Chelsea last weekend. He started urging him to pass the ball, score goals and improve his first touch. As Faz tried asking for an autograph, Garnacho asked him ‘Why didn’t you play bro?’ before going off into the stadium.

This entire incident has sparked debate among the Manchester United fans. Most supporters are behind Garnacho and slamming the YouTuber for unnecessarily harassing the winger as he’s getting prepared for a match. Some are in Faz’s favour in agreeing that the youngster needed a telling off to help him improve.

PlanetFaz, whose real name is Faisal Fahim, is a Manchester United season ticket holder. He describes himseld as an avid Red Devils fanatic and that ‘I go to every single Manchester United game! Men, Women and Youth games in Old Trafford! I try to attend games in the youth football facilities too!’

Faz has been a YouTuber since 2021 and has over 26,000 subscribers on his channel. He also has over 26,000 followers on X (Twitter), over 60,000 followers on TikTok and just over 4,500 followers on his Instagram.

Before transitioning into a YouTuber, Faz was a podcaster who hosted the ‘Planet Faz’ podcast. In the podcast, he even interviewed 2019 UK Masterchef Professionals runner-up Exose Grant, former Manchester United youth player Ntumba Massanka and other influencers as well.

But in the last few years, he’s stopped his podcasts to focus primarily on YouTube. Faz mostly makes videos of him reviewing matches or incidents, or giving opinion on some hot topic concerning Manchester United or the Premier League.

He started to gain a boost in popularity for being a part of The United Stand’s videos and getting known for his outlandish opinions. Faz worked with the fan channel for a lengthy period, travelling to matches, attending their shows and being featured in many fan opinion videos.

But he’s no longer associated with them after cutting ties with the channel earlier this year and even went on a vocal rant on Mark Goldbridge a few months ago.

Faz has recently started being featured in the watchalong videos with Manchester United YouTuber Saeed, who has over 125,000 subscribers. Faz went viral among football fans for being caught Biriyani in matches Manchester United lost and seen gulping it down right as they started conceding goals.

This incident with Garnacho isn’t the first time that Faz has sparked online fury with his behavior towards Manchester United players. In 2023, he also released a clip from outside Old Trafford where he starts telling Diogo Dalot to get ‘back in form, back in form’ and to get sharp again, during a period when the defender was making errors and not having good games.

It’s clear that this content creator isn’t scared of notifying the players’ mistakes right in their faces, even if it comes off as utterly disrespectful. What Faz will not want to do is alienate his follower base by triggering them with content like this, as that can seriously hamper his chances of making it as a big Manchester United YouTuber.
