“Everyone Thought it Would be 5-0”: MCFC Lads Gobsmacked After Feyenoord Draw

Manchester City were spectacularly held to a 3-3 draw by Feyenoord in possibly the most shocking result in the UEFA Champions League on matchday 4.

What makes it entirely surprising is that the Cityzens were leading by a 3-0 margin well past the 70-minute mark, only to concede three in the final stages of the game and squander a guaranteed win.

This result also extended their winless run to six games, after they’d lost five games before it. It also marks the first time in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career that he’s ever seen his team bottle a 3-0 lead to be held in a competitive match.

The tensions and frustration levels were high at the Etihad Stadium after this chaotic game and one Manchester City fan echoed the anger of the home supporters perfectly.

MCFC Lads, one of the biggest Manchester City YouTubers around, delivered a passionate rant slamming his team after the draw.

The YouTuber’s actual name is Luke Stanley and he has over 350,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel as well as over 270,000 followers on his Twitter (X) account.

The YouTuber is an ardent Manchester City fan and season ticket holder who travels to every match.

As a result, he makes a lot of matchday vlogs to capture the fan experience of watching the Cityzens in action, as well as making videos covering Manchester City news or giving opinions on the hot topics surrounding the club.

Just like every Manchester City supporter at the Etihad Stadium, MCFC lads was also gobsmacked at what he witnessed go down against Feyenoord.

Despite having lost their last five games, the YouTuber headed into the game quite optimistic that this would be the one where his side turns around their form.

He even showed a clip of some Feyenoord and Manchester City supporters fighting each other before the game.

But as the events unraveled, the supporter’s emotions underwent a rollercoaster of changes.

After seeing his side storm to a 3-0 lead thanks to an Erling Haaland brace and Ilkay Gundogan goal, MCFC Lads and the rest of the Manchester City fans experienced an unfathomable case of self-destruction.

The Eredivisie side scored three goals in the space of 15 minutes from the 75’ mark, pulling off a crazy comeback to leave the Premier League champions stunned.

MCFC Lads unleashed a passionate rant after the game, where he claimed most fans couldn’t believe what they saw and some even started leaving early on after seeing their side leading 3-0 and there was a feeling that it would end in a 5-0 win.

In his frustrated rant, MCFC lads lashed out at his taem by claiming: “That is an absolute embarrassment. Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like that under Pep Guardiola. Not only have we lost five games in-a-row, but we’re three-nil up against Feyenoord at home with 20 minutes to go and we’ve just gone and bottled it.

“There was people leaving, everyone thought it was going to be 5-0. Obviously, we’ve not lost the game but it feels worse than a loss that. How on earth can you be 3-0 up at home? It’s over. When is it going to end? 3-0 up at home with 20 minutes to go, you just shut up shop. Honetly, when they scored the first, shut up shop. We just leak goals after goal. I cannot speak, absolute embarrassment.”

MCFC lads’ rant is probably the ideal reflection of how most Manchester City fans are feeling after that awful draw.

Even though the draw doesn’t hamper the Cityzens’ ability to get into the Champions League knockout stages as they’re still in the top-8 in the table, but it demoralizes the team even more ahead of an intimidating game at Anfield against Liverpool on Sunday (1 December).
