Ever since Arsenal teamed up with Adidas in 2019, the Gunners have consistently raised the bar when it comes to football kits.
From the 2022-23 black-and-gold away kit to last season’s clean and classic red, white, and gold home kit that made the standard Gunners’ colours look different and above the rest, Arsenal’s kit game has been nothing short of elite.
But this season, it’s not just the kits turning heads—Adidas has taken things a step further with a lineup of stylish pre-match jackets that are redefining warmup wear.
What’s truly remarkable is the variety of designs that Arsenal players have sported before matches this season. Adidas hasn’t just stuck to one or two options; instead, they’ve delivered multiple standout looks that blend streetwear vibes with club tradition.
One of the most eye-catching pieces is Arsenal’s varsity-style jacket, that dropped on 11th December and was worn by Arsenal on 12th against Monaco. This isn’t your typical football jacket—it’s a fashion piece you’d see people wearing when they’re out and about.
The solid red base, paired with white pockets and buttons, exudes sophistication, while the dark blue “A” on the chest in a different style adds a collegiate touch to the entire jacket. On the cuffs, the embossed Arsenal badge in blue ties the design together, making it as much a collectible item as a functional warmup outfit.
Everytime Adidas release an Originals collaboration, it doesn’t disappoint, and the result was as expected with Arsenal as well. This jacket is a nod to North London’s heritage while embracing timeless retro vibes.
Its soft red base, adorned with a retro Arsenal badge from the 1990s and the Originals logo, evokes nostalgia when worn on the pitch. The addition of blue three-stripe detailing running down the sides amplifies the vintage feel, making this piece a celebration of both club history and Adidas’ iconic designs. The tracktop is part of a drop that released on November 7th.
Staying true to the retro theme is another standout jacket: a green and yellow creation that immediately recalls Arsenal’s iconic bruised banana kit. The color scheme harks back to the 1991-92 away kit, which used the famous bruised banana template in yellow and black. This design is a throwback to Arsenal’s frequent use of yellow and green in the ’90s, capturing the essence of that era. The Gunners have sported this jacket only once this season, and that was against Aston Villa in August.
Switching to a more modern aesthetic, Arsenal also introduced a sleek white jacket as part of Adidas’ Z.N.E. (Zero Negative Energy) collection that dropped on 29th August. This jacket’s minimalist design features blacked-out logos and accents, delivering a bold yet understated look. With its no-nonsense design language, the Arsenal Z.N.E. jacket reflects simplicity.
Sticking to the modern aesthetic is an all-black look with the Adidas, Emirates, and Gunners’ logo in white. The three stripes running down the sides have a base colour of white but also have designs within them, in what looks to be black, pink, and a mix of a few other colours. This jacket comes under their 2024-25 Love Unites collection, which, along with brand Rich Mnisi aims to pay an homage to the LGBTQ+ community.
Another design that deserves mention is Arsenal’s black, green, and red jacket, which ties in beautifully with the club’s 2024-25 away kit. Like the kit, this jacket celebrates Arsenal’s strong connections to North London and Africa. Created in collaboration with Labrum London—a British African heritage brand—it serves as a tribute to the African players who have graced Arsenal’s history and the club’s African supporters. Though it might not stand out as much among the other striking designs, this jacket carries a deeper cultural significance that resonates with Arsenal’s ethos of inclusivity and global reach.
For those fans of Arsenal who want to own every piece of club merchandise or the casual footy fans who love a bit of streetwear fashion mixed in with football, there’s some good news. Some of these designs are available for purchase either on Arsenal’s store or can be bought via Adidas.
The stylish varsity jacket is available on Arsenal’s website for £160, while the black, green, and red African heritage jacket can be bought for £180. The jacket is titled European Stadium Parka on Arsenal’s official website. The Adidas Originals jacket, albeit without Arsenal’s retro logo, is available for just £85. The one with the retro logo can be purchased on Adidas’ website under the Arsenal collection.
Unfortunately, the Z.N.E. jacket and the brusied banana-styled jacket aren’t available on both Adidas’ and Arsenal’s websites.
So as a fan which one of these stylish numbers will you be copping this season?
