William Saliba earned some well-deserved recognition at the 2024 FIFA ‘The Best’ awards show, as he was included in the Best XI Men’s Team of the Year lineup. Even though the Frenchman was placed in an unconventional left-back position in the XI, he was the only Arsenal player in the team.
Saliba has established himself as one of the best defenders in world football. He helped the Gunners keep 19 clean sheets in the Premier League last season and 11 clean sheets so far in 22 appearances in the 2024/25 campaign. The Frenchman is a strong, intimidating figure who loves donning a little moustache and goatee combination.
It now appears that Saliba has a bit of a doppelganger in a widely different sport. A doppelganger, for those unknowing, is considered someone who is a complete lookalike or having vividly similar features of another human being. Saliba’s lookalike, for some people, appears to be Professional Darts player Ben Robb.
Robb is a 36-year-old darts player who has been playing the sport professionally since 2008. The New Zealand darts player is currently ranked sixth in the World Darts Federation rankings, but is unranked for the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Better known as ‘Big Rig’ among darts fanatics, he has won 41 darts tournaments across his career.
The 36-year-old has participated in six PDC World Championships but lost out in the first round tie on all six occasions. The most recent setback in a PDF World Championships saw him lose to English darts player Connor Scutt in the first round of the ongoing 2025 PDF World Championships. His match was televised, and hence his appearance started going viral among many football fans who watched him in action in the championship.
The similarities are really uncanny between Saliba and Robb. The New Zealand darts player has strikingly similar facial features as the Arsenal man, which includes an identical facial hairstyle. Indeed, Robb also likes to keep the moustache and goatee combo like the French defender and he also looks to have a similar eyebrow style as Saliba.
They even seem to have the same kind of ear shapes and a similar size of their heads. What could help an individual separate between Robb and Saliba is probably by realizing that the darts professional has a more puffy face than the defender. Indeed, the 36-year-old is a bit heavier and bulkier than the 23-year-old Arsenal defender, who cannot afford to indulge in fattening foods in his profession.
For those wondering, there is no relationship between Robb and Saliba. The French defender is 13 years younger than the New Zealand darts specialist, who has no connections to France in terms of a family heritage. He doesn’t seem to fancy watching or following professional football much either.
In a past interview, Robb had recalled how he loved playing Basketball at the school level but couldn’t find a professional team to join. He only started treating darts as a casual darts player and often played it with his Dad at home, before starting to realize his quality and pursue a professional career in the throwing sport.
The 36-year-old Darts player has never met Saliba in his life, but considering how his appearance started gaining more recognition after his PDC Championship appearance, many fans would probably love watching them link up for a lookalike chat.
