Cristiano Ronaldo brought along his son Cristiano Jr with him to the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. The Portuguese legend won the Best Player in the Middle East award and was also celebrated for being the all-time top scorer in international football.
After the show, Ronaldo posed with Cristiano Jr and his partner Georgina Rodriguez and it was the 39-year-old’s eldest son’s physical stature that surprised many.
Without wearing any height-increasing shoes, Ronaldo Jr is almost the same height at his father at only 14!
The Al-Nassr sta’s height is around 187 M (6’2’ ft) and going by a general estimate, Cristiano Jr is already close to six feet tall in his puberty years.
This isn’t surprising for the Portugal forward himself.
Speaking about Crisitano Jr’s physical stature in the Saudi Pro League: Kickoff NetFlix show, Cristiano had claimed: “When I was his age, he is a little bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me.”
Cristiano Jr is Ronaldo’s eldest son, whose mother’s identity is unknown as he was produced through surrogacy.
He currently plays for Al-Nassr’s academy.
He’s scored 56 goals in 27 games for Al-Nassr under-13 in 2024 and even helped them win the under-13 Saudi Pro League title.
Ronaldo’s healthy lifestyle and hard-working nature has rubbed off on his son, whose transformation over the last decade has been rather startling.
Cristiano Jr first major awards show appearance
Cristiano Jr, who is born in 2010, started to make public appearances once he started to walk and was healthy enough to travel to matches.
In 2016, he made his first major appearance in an awards show in FIFA’s The Best Awards show, where he saw his father win the Best Men’s Player of the Year award.
Cristiano Jr was still quite a tiny lad back then, as he barely reached the Portuguese forward’s stomach region but managed to pull off a suit rather well.
Cristiano Jr at Juventus
Cristiano Jr joined the Juventus youth academy when his dad moved to the club in 2018 and the first signs of his growth sprout were noticeable in this period.
His height increased quite prominently despite him being only about eight at the time, as he nearly reached the shoulder region of Cristiano’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez.
It was during this period that Ronaldo started being stricter with his son’s eating habits.
The Portuguese forward refuses to let his eldest son gouge on junk food, as he had stated in 2020: “I’m hard with him sometimes because he drinks Coca-Cola and Fanta, which is not good for the body. I fight with him when he eats chips and fries and everything – I don’t like it.”
Cristiano Jr’s period at Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo’s dream return to Manchester United in 2021 also meant that his son would get to play for their acclaimed academy.
Cristiano Jr had a pretty grand signing ceremony where he posed with the club’s jersey and even signed a junior contract to play for the Red Devils’ academy.
It was here that his impressive growth was really documented. Cristiano Jr posed with Georgina Rodriguez after signing for the Red Devils and nearly reached her eye level.
Georgina Rodriguez is around 5’4’ ft, so Ronaldo Jr was already over 5 feet tall at the age of 11 when his dad moved back to Old Trafford.
Crisitano Jr’s growth at Al-Nassr
When Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr in early 2023, it meant a new experience for his family.
Cristiano Jr accompanied his father as he was unveiled as a new Al-Nassr player and in the ceremony, the 12-year-old looked to be catching up with his dad in terms of height.
Soon after the move, the Portuguese forward also posted a picture of him working out with his son in the gym and Jr’s impressive physical shape.
Not only did Cristiano Jr have a ripped body with abs in the training picture, but he reached the eye level of his father at such a young age.
Same height as Lamine Yamal
He’s clearly kept working on increasing his height over the last year or so, the result of which was evident at the Globe Soccer Awards show.
During the summer break in 2024, Crisitano Jr also met up with Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. In this picture, he is the same height as the 17-year-old, who is around 5’9′.
It’s evident that the 14-year-old already has the physical qualities of being a professional footballer, and only time will tell if he has the skills to follow his father’s footsteps and keep the ‘Ronaldo’ name shining bright in football for decades to come.
