Triple Captain in GW21

FPL Riddle: Should You Use the Triple Captain Chip in GW21?

FPL, Triple Captain Chip

FPL poses you with probably more riddles than life would ever ask. Here is another. To use or not to use the all-powerful Triple Captain chip in this gameweek?

Firstly, chips are hugely significant in the Fantasy Premier League. You never know how and when someone from your mini-league will surpass you by playing a roll of the dice.

Apart from the two wildcards, one of which has been played already or expired, the Triple Captain chip seems to be a real difference-maker. But when is the best time to make the most of it is the ultimate question?

Double gameweeks are one of the most taken routes. By the way, there is one in gameweek29. However, it may not always work.

Take my example as an instance. Last season, I played the Triple Captain chip in a double gameweek and risked it all with Dominic Solanke. The 27-year-old English forward was flying high at that time and looked no less than a goal machine in a Bournemouth shirt. But he fared badly. Missing a penalty made things even worse.

You may say, I am a dreamer. But I was not the only one. A hell of a lot of managers used their Triple Captain chip on that occasion and invested their trust in Solanke.

Therefore, double gameweeks not only mean double fun but also double trouble at times.

The upcoming GW21 could be an interesting route to play this smart chip and take a midway lead over your opponents. But who is the genie that will land you on a flying carpet in the FPL battlefield?

Md. Salah(£13.6m) has been in the form of his life, but Liverpool awaits a tricky encounter with Nottingham Forest. Then? A tall guy walks in the room all the way from Sweden. His visitors’ book entry reads Alexander Isak.

Isak(£9.3m) stands third in the table for highest goalscorers with a tally of 13. And he has embarked on a wild run since December. After returning from an injury right after the second international break, he almost broke the FPL charts.

Isak hasn’t blanked since gameweek14. Not even once! And has scored 69pts in this period. Newcastle United has just beaten Arsenal 2-0 in an English Cup encounter and is high on confidence after five consecutive wins in the Premier League.

With an ownership of more than 54%, he currently looks to be the most formidable asset in the game after Salah. Isak faces Wolves at home in GW21, a side which is fighting to save relegation and is known to concede a lot of goals.

It doesn’t get any better for Isak. Feel free to make him the Triple Captain for this week and embrace yourself in the hope of toppling your mini-league opponents with another Isak masterclass.
