The more information you gather, the more power you enjoy over your life and FPL. But it doesn’t work like that.
You may think that you are in control of the scheme of things that affect you. But you are not. Also, the template doesn’t always work. Not in FPL, not in life.
Otherwise, Salah, going on a goal-scoring spree, should have basked in glory in GW21 as the most-popular choice for the armband.
However, he has blanked against Nottingham Forest while leaving 70% of the FPL teams frustrated. Me too. I was about to make Palmer captain but decided to step back at the last minute.
There was news around an injury scare looming large over another FPL favourite, Alexander Isak. And I wasn’t too sure about Raul Jimenez in an away fixture against West Ham, who has just got a new coach in Graham Potter. Eventually, Jimenez scored a solitary point.
Coming back to Salah. Yes, there were expert opinions doing the rounds that Forest at home looks a tricky affair. However, as it seems, many managers like me opted for Salah by upholding the age-old FPL philosophy — form over fixtures.
But it backfired badly. He was awarded just two points for playing more than sixty minutes. I know how much it hurts.
Come what may, we mustn’t forget that Salah is in the form of his life in Fantasy Premier League 2024-25. Eighteen goals and thirteen assists within GW21 is something beyond phenomenal.
Just to remind you, this is only the third blank from Salah in as many as twenty-one matches. He has a kind run of fixtures till GW25. However, he is pretty fixture proof. And I don’t see any reason to strip him off the armband. There is something called the ‘Law of Average’ and the Liverpool legend continues to defy it.
