Meet Djed Spence’s Sister and his Biggest Fan, Karla-Simone Spence

Djed Spence, Tottenham Hotspur

24 year old defender Djed Spence finally seems to have found his spot under Ange Postecoglou for Tottenham Hotspur. After being signed by the club in 2022 from Middlesbrough, Conte disregarded Spence as a “club signing” and looked to send the youngster on loan to any club that was willing.

Djed had an incredible spell with Middlesbrough, spanning over 3 seasons; he made 70 appearances and scored twice before moving Spurs for a 5-year deal and a transfer fee of £20 million. It was during this stint that his sister Karla Simone Spence recorded a video of Ian Wright talking to the youngster: “You’re supposed to be in the Premier League, bro, you can’t be at that level and not be in the Premier League,” said Ian Wright.

Now under manager Ange Postecoglou, Spence’s career at Tottenham has taken a positive turn; with injuries, Spence has come into favour and has made that right-back spot his own. After loan spells at Rennes and Leeds, Spence signed a contract extension in October 2024, keeping him at the club until 2028. “I feel like I’m in the best place to grow as a player,” Spence said.

Someone who is documenting Djed Spence’s journey is his sister Karla-Simone Spence, who is famous in her own right. Karla is known for her roles in Blue Story, a British musical and drama, and The Confessions of Frannie Langton. She also posts makeup and GRWM (Get Ready With Me) videos on her Tik Tok account, @bria_sx, which has almost 10k followers.

Karla, aged 28, is older than Djed and is a singer, or, going off her Instagram bio, an artist. She has played roles in different musicals and also models various artists and designers for photoshoots. Snaps from her Instagram also show that she enjoys travelling.

Apart from this, Karla is also the biggest fan of her brother Djed Spence and is documenting his journey at Spurs. Karla is a regular at Spurs games, regardless of whether Spence is playing in them or not.

On her TikTok, she posts minute-long vlogs documenting her journey to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and her reactions to Spurs’ games and key moments in the game.

Most recently, Kara posted a vlog of her watching the Liverpool vs. Spurs EFL Cup Semi Final game, where Spurs came out as winners thanks to Lucas Bergvall. In the vlog, Karla can be seen chanting along with the home crowd, and in her voiceovers, she also talks about the game and Djed’s performance. “Can I just say, Djed had a brilliant game” said Karla about her brother’s performance on that night.

Thanks to these vlogs and Karla’s support for not just Djed but also Tottenham, Spurs fan groups have also noticed her. Spurs Army tweeted about Karla, reposting her TikTok saying, “This is ELITE from Djed Spence’s sister. So happy that Djed has had a complete revelation since his first start. He deserved the opportunity, got it and embraced it. Our best full back.”

They added, “She Follows us home and away. Great support around him, and great to see that he’s finally knuckled down a starting spot in our side.”

From Karla’s vlogs, it’s also evident that she doesn’t mind a bit of banter. In her United away days vlog, she said this about the Old Trafford atmosphere, “United fans are so quiet, it’s like they’re on mute,” while the Spurs fans chanted on in the away end.

Additionally, social media users have expressed admiration for her vlogs. One user on X mentioned, “I’ve loved Djed Spence’s sister TikTok football vlogs. She’s been supporting Tottenham home and away even back when Ange never played Spence.”

Karla-Simone Spence’s fandom for her brother and Spurs add’s another layer to Djed Spence’s come-up with Spurs, making him even more liked and loved by fanbases.
