How Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Brother Is Involved As Jordan Henderson Pushes Dramatic Ajax Exit

Jordan Henderson has stirred up major controversy by demanding an exit from Ajax in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The 33-year-old midfielder has reportedly struck an agreement for a move to AS Monaco and wants a switch to the French club before the window closes.

Henderson is trying to force the Dutch club’s hand in the matter. He has threatened the club of never playing for them ever again if they don’t let him move to Monaco. This comes after he even featured in Ajax’s recent 2-1 win over Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League last night.

Amidst all the drama, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brother Tyler has also come into the spotlight for all wrong reasons.

For those unknowing, Trent has two brothers. Tyler is four years elder to him and they also have a younger brother, Marcel, who is three years younger to the Liverpool full-back.

While Trent represents the family brightly on the football pitch, Tyler has created a pretty sorted career for himself outside of it. The 30-year-old is a director of the PLG Agency Group, a group that represents football players in the UK. He has been the director of the agency since 2020 and worked as a football agent for the Raps Management brand from 2017-2020.

Henderson is represented by the group, with Tyler also acting as his agent. As his representative, Tyler Alexander-Arnold is responsible for negotiating his contracts and the kind of salary he’d get.

It was the 30-year-old who ensured Jordan would receive a £700,000-a-week salary in his short six month spell at Al-Ettifaq after leaving Liverpool in 2023. Tyler also looks after Henderson’s commercial deals, with Jordan being a brand ambassador for MyProtein and NHS Charities Together.

Trent is, of course also a part of the PLG group and represented by his brother. Some other prominent Premier League stars who are being represented by the group include Andy Robertson and Jarrod Bowen.

Henderson has stayed quiet over this period and refrained from talking to the media after Ajax’s win over Galatasaray. However, some individuals feel that Tyler Alexander-Arnold could be responsible for influencing the 34-year-old into wanting a move to AS Monaco.

That is because Tyler can gain from this transfer on a personal level too. Normally, a player’s agent earns a commission, which is the 10% of the transfer fee paid for his move, with FIFA trying to cap this at 3% or 4%.

Of course, Ajax are yet to even entertain any bids from AS Monaco from Henderson as they don’t want to let him go. But for example, if Monaco managed to agree a deal for the midfielder worth a fee of around £20 million, then Tyler could end up gaining £2 million personally from that transaction.

A lot more drama is yet to unfold on this controversial transfer saga. But if Henderson continues to go on strike until a deal is met, it appears that both him and Tyler might get what they want before the winter transfer window closes.
