Why The 2025 Indonesia Away Kit is Turning Heads Worldwide

Football Kits

The Indonesia national football team are embarking on a new journey under Barca legend Patrick Kluivert in 2025. The Dutchman was appointed as their new head coach at the beginning of the year. He’s now tasked with helping them climb the FIFA World Rankings.

Ahead of their return to action (in March), the Indonesian national team has also introduced new attires.

The Garuda team are sponsored by Indonesian brand Erspo, who seem to have created a beautiful away kit for them. Considering that Indonesia will play multiple away games this year, this attire has been created to make the players really stand out.

The new away kit is a predominantly white kit. What makes it stand out are the beautiful patterns woven all over it. There are black patterns in the t-shirts cuffs and round-neck collar design. Their national team crest also has a black outer line to it, with the Erspo logo also kept in the same colour.

A unique aspect about this attire are the dark grey patterns around the shoulder region. There are illustrations made in this region which pays homage to Indonesia’s rich culture. On this area, the country’s Garuda emblem is cleverly woven into the fabric.

But the aspect that has gotten fans raving about most is the quality of the fabric.

This isn’t the any normal fabric used by most manufacturers for their kit. Since 2024, Erspo have bee using a ‘jacquard fabric’ quality for the kits of the Indonesian football team.

This is a unique type of material used for attires. The jacquard fabric is created when natural or synthetic fibers are interwoven with complex patterns. The fabric is normally woven on a Jacquard loom which is a machine loom invented by the French textile artisan Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804.

The jacquard fabric has been used sporadically for some football manufacturers in recent years. The socks and cuffs of the France national team’s home kit was created using a jacquard fabric in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Most football kits are created using polyster material. That is because the jacquard fabric can be quite expensive to create normal football kits.

The 2025 Indonesia away kit has not yet been released on Erspo’s online store. Considering the 2024 edition’s prices, this should be priced at just over 150,000 Indonesia Rupiah – which comes out to just over £7.

For any person outside Indonesia demanding this kit will probably have to wait before Erspo makes it available for worldwide shipping. Considering the lowly price of Indonesian kits, even extra shipping charges should make this kit a cheaper buy than some of the European teams’ current attires.
