FPL Watch: Which are the Best Chelsea Assets to Own Before Double Gameweek 25?

Chelsea, Double Gameweek, FPL

We have an extended deadline for gameweek 25, as cup games keep unfolding in a bizarre manner. Only last night, Spurs bottled its 1-0 lead over Liverpool from the first leg and went on to lose 1-4 on aggregate. Tonight, Manchester United will welcome its legend and former coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy but the Dutchman will be sitting on the Leicester City dugout.

Under such circumstances, fantasy managers are revising their transfer targets and assessing which would be the most effective chip for the next gameweek — the all-new assistant manager chip or the old triple captain one? A consecutive second double gameweek has really spiced things up in the Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 campaign.

However, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea has narrowly missed on a double date in GW25 as Arsenal fell short to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle in their Carabao Cup final bid. But they are in good form this season and their run of fixtures also look absolutely lip-smacking now. Here are the key Chelsea assets which demand your consideration ahead of the double gameweek 25.

Cole Palmer(£11.3m)

Palmer enjoyed his breakout season last year and continues to be a template pick even in Fantasy Premier League 2024-25. He currently happens to be the second-highest point-scorer in the fantasy football game, only after Md. Salah.

Palmer, who is now finding his name among almost 65% of the FPL teams, blanked in two consecutive gameweeks — in GW22 and GW23. However, I didn’t see any room for concern. The first was a plum fixture against Wolves at home but Palmer had just recovered from an injury. And the next one was against Manchester City away.

Moreover, Cole Palmer is a proven asset and has been prolific this season — 14 goals and 8 assists. Most importantly, the England international has beaten his xG(11.8) by some distance. He has also got four clean sheets, which increases his appeal manifold.

Noni Madueke(£6.1m)

Madueke has been a revelation this season. At such a budget price-point, he is offering great value — 99pts with an xGI of 0.6 per 90’. The 22-year-old attacker has 7 goals and 4 assists from 18 starts.

The England international has one hat-trick too, in this campaign. In the last three gameweeks, Noni has raked in 18pts and looks a superb pick going forward.

Madueke is enlisted as a midfielder in FPL and that’s the best part about him, as he plays out-of-position in the Chelsea final third. Also, he is a great differential with an ownership below 5% and doesn’t burn your pocket.
