Bournemouth’s remarkable season under Andoni Iraola has been a sight to behold. The Cherries’ impressive 12-game unbeaten run, which included dominant performances against top half sides, has carried them to 7th place in the league, only a point of the top 4.
This dream run unfortunately came to an end against table-toppers Liverpool, where they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home.
Iraola’s side are the 4th best side defensively in terms of goals conceded, and one of the standout performers driving their success has been Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez, a key figure in Bournemouth’s backline, has been a consistent presence, racking up 26 appearances, two goals, and three assists this season. With an average FotMob rating of 7.1, his contributions have been vital. But while his performances have earned praise, it’s his haircut that’s suddenly stealing the spotlight.
The 21-year-old is easily recognizable on the pitch, not just for his playstyle but also for his signature mullet. While the hairstyle has made a resurgence in recent years, Kerkez has remained particularly loyal to it, growing it out since early 2024. Traditionally defined by its “business in the front, party in the back” aesthetic, the mullet is a bold statement—one that Kerkez has embraced wholeheartedly.

However, Bournemouth’s recent FA Cup victory over Everton unveiled a new look to his trim. Snaps from the game show a rather angular take on the mullet, sparking reactions from fans.
The fresh cut features a strikingly sharp outline, with the sides completely shaved off—moving away from the usual faded look. The result? A style so precise, it looks like it was crafted using geometry tools. It prompted one user on X to post the image of a geometry tool as a reply to Kerkez’s trim.

“90° Skin no fade,” tweeted another user.
The drastic transformation of this new verion mullet gives similar vibes to that off Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan’s iconic mohawk. Nainggolan only sported a thin strip of hair through the middle, as a mohawk does, and the sides wiped clean.
Kerkez’s version of the mullet is similar too, with one fan perfectly summing it up in his tweet, “So Milos what are we saying for the trim lad?” Just a bit off the sides mate.”
Another fan pulled up a Simpson’s meme, “Manningly, I thought I told you to get rid of those sideburns!!!!” referring to his sharp mullet that are angled like sideburns.
Maybe this trim isn’t a one-off experiment from Kerkez, but rather a permanent shift, or maybe even an attempt to give the mullet trim a new trendy style.
