Ruben Amorim is facing a stern reality check as Manchester United manager. In 15 matches since taking over in November (2024), the Dutchman has seen his side lose eight games. That is double the number they’ve won (four).
The Red Devils produced another sub-par performance in their recent 2-2 draw against Everton. Despite the inspired late comeback, Amorim looked a dejected and frustrated figure in the touchline for the majority of the game. Most of the fans watching had the same sentiment, but at least something Ruben wore started to get traction.
The 40-year-old manager decided to wear something informal for the Red Devils’ final game at Goodison Park. To beat the cold, he wore an Adidas, Manchester United hoodie jacket to keep himself warm.

He paired it up with brown chinos, but the stylish black hoodie with intricate red and white patterns around the bicep and ribs region makes it a real standout. Rather than the Manchester United club crest, the logo of their iconic ‘Red Devil’ is imprinted in red in the middle and the ‘Adidas Originals’ symbol is kept right over it.
This is actually as hoodie which is part of the Adidas originals line in their Manchester United merchandise collection. This hoodie is described as ‘street wear’ by the brand, and it’s a loose fit design for maximum kit. Adidas claims that the attire is 78% cotton and 22% recyclable polyester material, having a drawcord-adjustable hood to adjust the tightness.

Adidas’ official description for this stylish hoodie is stated as: “Forge your football passion in a loose-fitting Manchester United hoodie inspired by adidas heritage. The soft fleece build covers you in cosy warmth while ribbed cuffs help to seal in your body heat. Shooting over the shoulders, bold 3-Stripes flank a classic Trefoil and a red devil badge stacked in the centre of the chest.”
This is the first time that this slick hoodie has been worn by a major Manchester United player/coach in front of a live TV crowd. Well, it turns out to be a hit as many fans started voicing their admiration for the hoodie and how well Amorim pulls it off too.
One Manchester United fan commented on X (Twitter): “There is no United MOTM today, so I give it to Amorim simply for the hoodie.’ Another wrote: “Everything about United is a**. But that hoodie that Amorim has on is fire.”

Well, it turns out that Amorim made a lot of bucks for Adidas by displaying their attire in front of millions of fans watching on. Adidas priced the Hoodie at around £85 on their official store, but the merchandise has now gone out of stock because of the crazy demand for it.
What is surprising is that this hoodie has even gone out of stock for third-party merchant websites. It’s even unavailable on websites like Zalando and Unisport.
For fans desperate to get it, it’s available on Greek merchandise store Phat Soles. They’ve priced it at £58. However, shipping around Europe is almost £25, while for outside Europe it’s £33 per item!
Amorim might not be having the most fun seeing his side lose or draw matches in embarrassing fashion. But at least he made Adidas happy by helping them get a big profit on their stylish hoodie.
