Ipswich winger Jack Clarke shared a heartfelt moment with Heung-Min Son after Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Ipswich away from home. Spurs secured the win thanks to two goals from Brennan Johnson, with both assists coming from Son.

Clarke and Son made their way back onto the pitch after the full time whistle, with hands around each others shoulder, laughing and having a chat that lasted for almost a minute.
So why were the two having such a long chat? It wasn’t a routine post match interaction, it was Clarke interacting with one of his former teammates and a player he looks up to.
Once a promising Spurs signing in 2019, Clarke never found his footing in North London, making only four senior appearances, going out on loan on multiple spells, eventually finding home at Sunderland in 2022, and then making the move to Ipswich this summer.
Son was a senior figure when Clarke arrived as a teenager, and even though the two might not have spent too much time on the pitch together, there’s mutual respect and Son is clearly fond of the youngster.
Clarke has been open about his admiration for Son in the past, ” I really like watching Heung-min Son, I think he’s a top, top player, both feet, so quick, dribbling,” he told the club’s official website.”
Fans love that Son remembers the youngster and took time out to talk to him, whether that may be as a friend or as a mentor.
“He never forgets a face – really blessed to have @Sonny7 at my club,” said one fan while another added, “Son is one player who’s loved by all our fans from other clubs and players too.”
