Kash Patel has made history by being the first Indian-American to be the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He’s been trusted by President Donald Trump to assume this important role, having served as a National Security Council (NSA) official in the past.
It also turns out that Patel is a massive Liverpool fan. During one of the confirmation hearings before being appointed as the FBI director, the 45-year-old donned a slick suit with a very unique tie. He opted to wear a red and white striped tie, with this particular attire catching the attention of Liverpool fans.
That is because upon zooming in, one can spot the Liverbird symbol right at the end of the tie. This is a smart little homage from Patel to Liverpool FC and showing his devotion towards the club, wearing such a club merchandise for a United States Senate hearing!
Liverpool fans are having a lot of fun with knowledge of having the FBI director’s support. One fan commented: “We have the FBI backing us. Expect Liverpool to dominate for the next 12 years.”

Another fan hopes Patel can help find Manchester City guilty of their financial fairplay violation charges, claiming: “The new Director of the FBI seen wearing his Liverpool tie. Hopefully he will go after Hicks and Gillette for the biggest fraud in English football (pre 115 charges to City).”

This particular tie worn by Patel might’ve been one tailor-made for him. There is a tie with a similar red and white stripes design available on Ebay for £14, but it doesn’t have the Liverbird logo. Liverpool’s official online store has one club-merch tie option available (for £15), but this is a bright red one with the Liverbird symbol in the bottom.
Patel even seemingly wore his Liverpool tie in his official portrait picture as FBI director. He has never spoken about his love for Liverpool or football in any public interviews. However, it’s clear from this surprising appearance that the FBI director is another addition to the famous Liverpool fans around the globe.
