Gossip: Crystal Palace Star Open to Spurs Move as Levy Engages US Billionaires

Tottenham Hotspur

When Ange Postecoglou was brought in at the start of last season, there were doubters.

But Spurs and Ange exceeded expectations, finishing 5th and only missing out on the top 4 by two points.

Things were looking up for 24/25, but as we approach the end of February, Tottenham languishes in 13th place.

What Went Wrong?

Injuries.

Their entire backline—including their goalkeeper—has missed multiple games this season.

At one point, Spurs had 11 players out simultaneously.

That was one of the reasons they brought in Kevin Danso from RC Lens in January to help fix their defense.

Looking forward to the summer, Tottenham is looking to add another center-back to their team.

Federico Gatti is the player in question, as Tottenham is reportedly interested in wrapping up a bargain deal for a Juventus center-back this summer.

But defense isn’t the only concern.

Spurs are also looking to reinforce their midfield, but they’ll have to battle Manchester United for their targets.

Eberechi Eze

According to Give Me Sport, Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is open to joining Tottenham this summer.

The asking price is £68 million, but United’s interest could drive up the cost.

From Spurs’ point of view, Eze—along with James Maddison—could provide the balance they need in midfield.

Morten Hjulmand

The other midfielder linked with both Spurs and United is Morten Hjulmand.

According to Jornal de Noticias via Sport Witness, Hjulmand could leave Sporting CP for less than his €80 million release clause this summer.

The 25-year-old now has to choose between London and Manchester—but, of course, many other factors will come into play.

The Daniel Levy Situation

Finally, let’s talk about Daniel Levy.

There have been rumors that Levy is looking to sell Spurs to American billionaires.

But talks have stalled due to:

Levy’s high valuation of the club

His desire to remain involved—either as an investor or as an executive making sporting decisions

For Spurs to truly compete, they need to spend more than they have historically.

If the sale goes through, it could give them the financial push they desperately need!
