Liverpool are already making plans for the 2025 summer transfer window despite being en route to the 2042/25 Premier League title. Arne Slot is still playing with ‘Jurgen Klopp’s squad’ as the majority of his players are those signed by his predecessor.
The Dutchman has suffered a minor headache when it comes to the left-back role. 30-year-old Andy Robertson has become prone to sloppy mistakes. Kostas Tsimikas isn’t consistent enough to be a top-level regular.
The Reds seem interested in improving their left-back position after noticing certain drawbacks. That is why the Reds are now consistently being linked to Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool are monitoring the situation of the Hungarian defender. He claimed on his YouTube channel: “Liverpool are tracking the player. Liverpool have been monitoring the player and Milos Kerkez will be in the list of several clubs including–but not only–Liverpool. For sure, (he) will be one to watch in the summer transfer window.”
Earlier in the 2024/25 season, Kerkez also changed his agent. He joined up with Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports Group, sharing the same agency as Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa. It has also been claimed that this move from the 21-year-old defender was because he wants to join a ‘top’ European club in the 2025 summer window.
Liverpool have already discovered that they’ll need to pay at least £33 million for Kerkez’s signing this summer. They also face competition from Real Madrid, who have been impressed by the Hungarian’s performances as well.
It has now also been reported by Talksport that Liverpool are set to make a move for Kerkez’s transfer in the summer window. The Hungary full-back has two goals and four assists in 27 Premier League matches this season. Robertson, on the other hand, has zero assists.
A major advantage to signing Kerkez is that he has plenty of Premier League experience, something defenders from foreign leagues can’t boast about. Liverpool, however, must be fast and efficient to sign the Hungarian defender over anyone else.
