With the appointment of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their caretaker manager, it seems as though the shackles have been removed and some of the old swagger is back at Manchester United.
Solskjaer started with a bang as United dispatched Cardiff 5-1, and put on display some crisp attacking football which was missing under the previous manager.
Similar results followed against Huddersfield and Bournemouth as Pogba bossed the midfield while Rashford led the line with much composure and finesse.
United, however, had to show their character midweek to overcome a sturdy Newcastle side, and took over an hour to break the deadlock as Lukaku came off the bench and scored a poachers goal from his first touch, something his boss would have really appreciated.
Rashford, then doubled the lead and continued his impressive goal scoring form.
Solskjaer was delighted with the result and the clean sheet as he ran on the pitch and gave much needed love & encouragement to his players after full time.
There’s a buzz around the club now and the scenes after the match showed how the Norwegian has already built a strong relationship with the squad.
It remains to be seen whether he’ll continue to be at the helm come summer, however it’ll be interesting to see how his rejuvenated side performs against the other five of the big six and if they manage to close the season strongly.
