In another scintillating display, Tottenham Hotspur pulled off a brilliant 3-0 victory over a Borussia Dortmund side who are dominating the Bundesliga.
The win did not only gave them an edge going into the second leg at the Signal Iduna Park but also showcased how well their youngsters are performing in a vital period when they are missing some of the key players.
One such brilliant performer yesterday was the 21-year-old Argentinian defender Juan Foyth.
Many were surprised to see him in the first team but the youngster stepped up to the big occasion, grew into the game and kept the dazzling Dortmund attack consisting of the likes of Mario Götze, Christian Pulisic and Jadon Sancho at bay.
One particular moment where he held off the pressure from Pulisic and Götze before making a sweet turn to trigger a counter-attack summed up his performance on the night.
The footage of the incident landed online & it very quickly gained popularity among the Spurs faithful and many pitched in to praise the young defender.
And given the fact that Pulisic recently signed a £58 million deal to join arch-rivals Chelsea in the next summer made the moment even sweeter for the North Londoners.
Yesterday was another great European night for Tottenham but if they are to make a bid for the coveted trophy, they’ll require many of such amazing performances from the likes of Harry Winks and Juan Foyth in the future.
